July 18th 2022- 7:30 am

"Wake up... Wake up... We'll be late..."

Reo Takahashi woke up to find his younger sister jumping on him. He smiled as he got up.

"Fine, fine, I'm getting up." Reo said to his energetic sister. Reo had to get all of his strength to get out. He went to the bathroom and did all of his 'business' there. As he slung his clothes on, he recalled last weeks events.

"Your 2022 Kendo World Championship is... Drum roll please... REO TAKAHASHI!" The crowd cheered beyond what Reo thought they could. He had just been called the best kendoka in the world. Something he had only dreamt of when he started the art. He had made a few friends too. Like his last opponent, Kazuto Kirigaya and his sister, Suguha Kirigaya. Like himself and his sister, Itchika, they had both been participating in the tournament for Japan though, of course, there could only be one winner.

He recalled something else... Oh no... He had promised his sister that he would take here and the rest of the Girls Kendo Club out for shopping. Imagine if Touma saw him. Touma was one of his closest and longest friends. Yeah, imagine if Touma saw him! Reo had an idea. He called Touma, Kazuto and the rest of the boys - Yuuto, Sora and Kaito- and asked if they wanted to come and keep him company. He also invited Kazuto's younger sister, as she could hang out with Itchika and the rest of the club. That would be alright.

July 18th 2022- 2:45 pm

Reo marvelled at how different he looked since the tournament, in the tournament, he had short hair, and was mostly covered in his suit, as he wanted to keep his status as a good Kendo practitioner, but now, now he has long strands of hair and was wearing mostly black. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if he and Kazuto looked alike. There was a plus side to this of course. No one would realise that he was the world champion. He had seen anime, and he definitely did not want to become the main character in a harem.

He walked over to the sports hall, the place where the Girls Kendo Club resided. He unconsciously wondered if Itchika had told the club leader and the club teacher that they would be going today. Oh no...

He walked in and was immediately greeted by about half a dozen faces. But before he could walk over to them, he was stopped by a shout.

"Hey you. What do you think your dong flirting with girls in here. If that's why your here, then go back to the hell hole you came from." the person who was obviously the club leader said.

"But..."

"He's Itchika's b-"

I don't care if he's Itchika-sans boyfriend. Now get lost!" The leader said.

Ughghg... Now he was going to have to solve this.

"Hey, I have a preposition, if I can beat you in a 1v1, will you let me take them out?" Reo said, surely she would accept as she didn't know who he was. Hehe.

He watched as her anger formed a grin. She was going to accept. "Fine then, but if you lose, you must never even talk to any members of the club."

"Sure." Reo said.

Reo watched as the leader put here gear on. "This is going to" She said to herself. "Aren't you going to put your gear on, newbie?" She asked

"Don't worry about me, I won't need it." replied Reo, mysteriously.

They both approached each other and bowed. When the bell rang, they would clash. The leader was called Sayori. She was looking at her opponent. He was holding the sword in one hand. 'Obviously a newbie to the art' her brain thought. He wasn't covering his head and his left hand seemed less defended. Those would be her targets. The bell rang. She ran up to him and dodged his first measly attack. She then aimed for his head, putting most of her power into the shot.

The two swords clashed. Sayori looked in both anger and shock. This guy was holding off her attack with one had? Reo then pushed her back and aimed for her head, he got a hit. Again, the two swords clashed. This time, Reo had been using both of his hands, this made Sayori fall back and so, he got another hit.

"I'll be off now." Reo said casually as he turned and motioned the girls to walk out of the door.

"Wait, who even are you?" Sayori asked. She could not believe how easily he had won.

"Reo Takahashi, nice to meet you." Reo replied mockingly as he put out his hand to shake.

The girls and Reo then left the club leader as she just stared in shock.

JULY 18th 2022- 5 pm

Reo wasn't sure if his wallet could survive. What's more, only Kazuto and his sister had managed to turn up, the rest of them were busy. They had been shopping for about 2 hours now.

"Hey, can we just sit down for a few moments and get something to eat?" Kazuto said after looking at the desperation on Reo's face.

"Sure." They all replied in unison.

As the waiter was getting down all of their orders, Reo noticed a sign 'Sword Art Online Beta Tester Test'. A long name perhaps, but Sword Art Online was the very first VRMMORPG to ever be made. Now they were asking for betas!

Reo walked over to the booth the 'test' was being held at. He looked back, he was sure the girls wouldn't mind. He looked around, where was Kazuto? The answer, right beside him. Kazuto had too been intrigued by the booth. They both went in together.

Kazuto and Reo both walked out with big grins on their faces. They had both been selected to be betas for Sword Art Online!

"Where were you?" an angry voice was directed to the duo. It was Suguha...
