Day sixteen, with more bears and tigers!

Kumatora let out a groan as Lucas clung to her in fright. She really hoped that the little blond boy would man up soon. She loved him like a little brother, but this was seriously getting out of hand.

"Lucas, seriously, there's nothing to be afraid of," stated the pink-haired princess as she pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.

"B-But it's dark in that cave! Who knows what c-could be lurking in there!" cried Lucas looking up at the girl with fear in his eyes.

"But we need to go through the cave to reach our next destination. Duster and Boney are already in there waiting for us, Lucas. We need to get going!"

The teen heard a whimper come from the child. Her expression softened a bit after hearing the sound. She knew what the child has been through at such a young age. She felt a little bad trying to force him to do something he clearly didn't want to do, but time was of the essence.

She took hold of Lucas' hand and pulled it off of her hoodie, but instead of letting go of the boy's hand she held it firmly in her own. This gained Lucas' attention as he gave her a questioning look.

"K-Kumatora?"

"There's no reason to be scared, Lucas. As long as you got me and Boney and even Duster, you'll never be alone. Just stick close to me and I won't let anything happen to you while we're in the cave. Okay?"

The fear in the blond boy's eyes started to fade. With a smile and a nod of determination, he nodded that he was ready to face what was to come. Kumatora smiled back and the two then entered the darkness of the cave, ready to face it together.

Kumatora knew the boy had inner strength. It just needed to be found…and she would be there to help him find it.
