One shot songfic inspired by One Man Drinking Games by Mayday Parade.
He sat alone in his dark room, only just managing to see by the moonlight. He downed shot after shot of vodka.
"Every time I think of her," he thought, "I'll have a drink."
And so he drank.
"Come on El," he whispered, gently tapping on her window. "Let me in."
Suddenly she appeared. "Robbie," she said softly, "you shouldn't be here."
But she opened her window all the way. He climbed in and faced her.
A single tear rolled down her cheek. And yet, even with that tear, she was perfection. All her excellence and all her flaws came together to form one beautiful masterpiece, in a way he had never appreciated before. But her knew that perfection could never be his.
"I know, El, but I just wanted to spend one last night with you. One last night before we say goodbye for good. Before you go running into his arms. Please."
The silence was deafening. He could hear her slowly breathing. Slowly fading away.
Then she finally spoke.
"I'd like that."
And with the trail of that single tear still visible, she pulled him closer.
"I love you." he whispered into her warm neck.
But she didn't say it back.
And he knew she could never say it back. She was someone elses one and only.
And so he drank.
And he would continue to play these one man drinking games until she became a distant memory in the back of his mind.
* Let's drink to memories we shared
Down one to all the hopes & cares
Here's two for being unaware
That you're gone
Because before too long
You'll be a memory *
