Rain pitter-pattered against the earthy ground. Tombs stood proud and tall in the misty darkness, slippery to the touch. Creatures of all kinds surrounded the cemetery with bowed heads. People clad in black from the nearby village held each other; tears streaming down their cheek while a few heart-wrenching sobs filled the gloomy air.
Only six stood close the casket as it was lowered into the muddy hole at their feet. Three males with broken hearts each holding a different colored lily in their hands. A young woman resting her head on the man she continuously crushes on. Her sobs both beautiful and heartbreaking. The man holding the woman looks to his best friend, trying to read the quiet man's expression, only to find it bare blank.
Yet under that blank expression was a broken heart. Shattered by the loss of the one girl that truly knew him. Secretly in love with her from the very first week he met her. Only to keep those feelings to himself. Time slowly passed and one group left grieving but knowing that their dearly departed would want them smiling like they use to before; none could smile, though. Soon only one stood alone.
His blank expression never wavering from the casket resting in the open ground. Lighting flashed and thunder cracked, but the lone male did not move. No one was happy for her. Tears slid down with the rain. His eyes dilating and bloodshot. His mind engrossed in dark thoughts. Red flashed before his eyes. An inhumane smile cracked across his lips. His hand reaching behind his back reaching for his katana. He would show them. He would show them all to smile He will make them all smile. Starting with himself.
Bringing the katana up to the corner of his mouth, dragging it up into rigid curls on both sides. Blood spied down like a river. His black jumpsuit sticky and wet. What once was his heart- worn on the outside for all to see -darkened with the dampness. The rain washed away what it could, yet it was not enough. It was too late. No turning back. They drew him into smiling forever. Turning his head slowly to where the village that laid in the distance. It was time for them all to smile too. A smile that would last forever so they would never have to frown again. Smiles that would just be for the villages beloved Pucca.
