He loved humanity.

For all that it was and is,

The man loved humanity.

But humanity didn't love him.

He loved humanity,

So he expected humans to love him back,

But how can every individual love one man?

Especially one man such as him.

With his terrifying smile,

The man shut out his heart.

By loving everyone,

No one person could ever get close

To breaking the frozen wall he built.

He loved humanity.

But how can you love someone you hurt?

Humanity couldn't love him.

He was a psychopath,

A sadist

To those the man loved.

The man loved everyone,

Because he wanted to shut-out the entire world.

Avoiding real relationships,

Escaping into the minds of humans…

Until he met someone he hated.

Another man

With a different looking face.

The man that loved humanity…

Felt something different that day.

Through his hate he felt close

The man feared the monster he hated.

The monster had gotten too near.

He loved humanity.

But his obsession with the human monster took over,

And consumed his mind.

He was scared the monster would surpass it;

His love for humanity.

And that he would have to marvel at him

At what the monster would become.

The man who loved humanity,

Couldn't escape the inevitable,

For he loved all humans,

Even if they became monsters.

The monster surpassed his love,

And got too close to his heart.

The fragile man that loved humanity

Loved humanity no longer,

So the man that loved the monster disappeared,

Along with his fragile heart.

For the man who loved a monster,

Unraveled at the seams

And experienced love in its purest form.

In the end,

He loved and hated one human most of all,
