I jammed my finger today and it hurts like bitch... But my dedication to SoMa is great enough that I can pull through! I must write for this fandom!

Day 6- demon

Even though it was gone, it would still haunt Soul for the rest of his days. It gave him nightmares. The demon was no longer in his head, but he'd always remember. He was so scared of that little sign of madness. He'd never admit it, but having that thing in his head to read his thoughts and try to take him down, it was terrifying. He always worried that one day he'd snap, the demon would take over, and he went insane. If that happened, He'd probably hurt Maka. He wouldn't be able to let it go if he did anything to hurt her. He was supposed to make sure she was okay, he couldn't be the cause of her pain.

"Let the madness take you. Feel no fear, win the battles, be invincible."

"Leave me alone. I can't do that."

"Yes you can." The demon replied. "Don't worry, I promise your meister wont be hurt."

"Bullshit!" Soul snarled.

"One of these days, if you wont do it for me, I'll do it myself."

"What!?"

Soul woke up, hot and sweaty and tangled in his bed sheets. He was breathing hard, his heart was racing. If he hadn't gotten rid of that thing, would it have really been able to control Soul long enough for him to fall to the madness?

He shook his head. It was okay, that thing was gone. He got out of bed, knowing he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. He made his way to the kitchen and filled up a glass with water, chugging it down. Of course, it didn't help to ease his nerves.

His feet lead him to his meisters room, and her door was open. She was sleeping peacefully, completely unharmed. Soul sighed, calming down. It's gone. It's gone. He thought, letting out another sigh. Maka's eyes cracked open, her gaze resting on Soul. She sighed and sat up, opening her arms. He wasted no time in sitting next to her and accepting her hug.

"Nightmares again?" Maka asked.

Soul nodded, his nose buried between her neck and shoulder. "Why won't they go away?" He whispered.

"They never will. But I'll be here, waiting to talk about it if you want." Maka replied, rubbing his back soothingly.

She made no comment when she felt one of his tears fall on her collarbone. He continued to let out silent tears, holding him until he calmed down.

She was right, the nightmares never went away but she was always there to comfort and soothe him. That's how it always was, that's the way it would always be.

Short and sweet, yes? Don't worry, for the last day of this historical fanfiction week I will try to make the fic as loooooong as possible, ne? :3 until next time, SoMa babies!
