Prologue
Severus knocked on the gryphin carved door of the headmaster. He had recently been summoned and was not happy about it.
"You wanted to see me headmaster?"
"Why yes dear boy, I did."
"As my wife could go into labor at any time, I hope we can make this quik?"
"Yes. So how is Lily doing?"
"She is fine. Thanks for your concern."
"You understand Voldemort grows ever stronger?"
"Yes."
"And that all measures must be taken to ensure his downfall?"
"Yes Headmaster, I understand this," Severus said with a bite of impatience in his voice.
"You understand that the greater good must always be our primary concern?"
"Headmaster, I fail to see..."
"I need you to answer this question for me."
"Yes," Severus hissed out between clenched teeth. He wanted to be out of here and back at his wife's side.
"Very good." Albus drew his wand." Unsure of what was about to happen, Severus stiffened in alarm. He had had no cause to be wary of Albus before, but...
Albus waved his wand in a pattern that was Indiscernible to Severus, and a bright white light encompassed him.
