Pauley: Okay, so I've become OBSESSED with the idea of HG being Claudia's mother figure. So here, a multi-chapter flufffest for you wonderful peeps :D
It seemed like another routine snag bag and tag, They didn't know what the Artifact did, but it didn't matter, it was dangerous and needed neutralising and storing.
Myka took Claudia again, not because Pete couldn't come, he was perfectly capable now, but because she wanted to take the younger girl. Claudia had been down lately and Myka wanted to get to the bottom of it.
They were resting in the hotel, after a full day of searching and although they'd found clue's, they'd found nothing useful at all,
"Claud... What's up with you lately?" Claudia frowned slightly and just shook her head.
"Nothing." She answered simply, frowning down at her laptop to try and concentrate. But Myka refused to let it go, continuing to question Claudia until Claudia snapped.
"Let it go Myka! There's nothing wrong and now I'm going back to my room now leave me the fuck alone!" She nearly screamed at her as she stood and stormed from the room.
She curled on her bed, crying quietly into her pillow as her body shook. She hated this, all of this. God she hated everything and she couldn't even tell anyone. She curled into herself and cried herself to sleep.
~With HG Wells~
Helena paced the hotel anxiously, biting her lip. She didn't know what it was, but she knew Claudia had been in touch with the artifact and it was going to affect her. And soon. See the artifact, whatever it was, gave you what you wanted most but... in a strange way. Take a breath, she started inside, making sure to sneak Claudia's room key as she headed up the stairs, unlocking the door. What she found inside... she wasn't sure if she wanted to squeal or cry.
Claudia Donovan, the wonderful techie who saved lives on a daily basis, was no more than a toddler. HG bit her lip. She could go get Myka, tell her what had happened but... Claudia was a child. And a child needs a mother. And HG needed a child. So with only a pang of guilt, the victorian swooped forward and scooped Claudia up into her arms, hurrying from the room as fast as she can. Once she got outside to her car, Helena buckled Claudia in, wrapping her in her overcoat to keep her warm before rushing back to the house she had purchased.
Pauley: Th-th-th-that's all folks :) There'll be more next time, that just seemed like a good place to stop. Let me know what you think :D
