Give or Take

I don't own Naruto but I'd like to own Hayate Gekkou.

There were days when she loved her…

Ino Yamanaka was never the type to play games.

She would never wait around for a guy to make the first move, one of the many reasons she had to poke fun at Sakura.

She rubbed on Sasuke shamelessly, trying her best to ignore the minor distraction that was the Hyuuga girl and the only member of the kyuubi-fan-club.

She shared in Sasuke's quiet, withdrawn nature but Ino knew the girl couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag.

On that note she hated the pearly-eyed "princess".

But something about those tiny white hands fumbling together when she looked at him…

Ino bit her glossy lip.

There were days when she hated her…

Ino spat in disgust as she stared at the beaten and bruised Hinata.

And she claimed Naruto made her stronger.

Kurenai proclaimed Hinata was stronger.

Frankly, Ino didn't know what Kiba saw in her.

Or Shino for that matter.

Ino noticed the blood spilled on her hands, expression unchanging.

She had it coming.

There were days when she loved her…

Hinata frowned when she saw the Ino-girl glaring at her, her confidence evaporating.

Ino was so strong, so full of confidence so… 'hot'.

If Hinata were Ino at the time,

Naruto and she would've probably jumped the broom by now.

She whimpered, hoping shamefully that Sakura would loose Sasuke to Ino.

As her team mate would say… these thoughts and moods were so…

Troublesome.

There were days when she hated her…

She watched as Ino rubbed against Sasuke, glaring slightly in a way that made Kiba and even Shino worry.

She was angry.

She was furious.

She was enraged.

She was jealous.
She didn't know if it was Ino's confidence she envied or Sasuke's attention.

Sakura stared and sighed.

"I'm giving up on Sasuke-kun." Sakura whispered woefully, her knees held tightly against her body.

Ino frowned. Not at Sakura's feeble position because frankly she didn't give a damn.

"Why?" she asked carelessly.

The pink-haired beauty shrugged and Ino snorted, turning away.

"I let him down."

"So, Sasuke loves Naruto, eh? Not really what you'd expect, I mean come on. Emo-boy and village clown?"

Hinata laughed a bit, humorlessly. "Emo and clown… Sakura and Lee…"

"Creepy brows and billboard brow." Ino grinned.

"Tenten and Neji…"

"A disaster."

"Shikamaru and Temari…"

"Can you say 'husband-beater'?"

"And… me…"

Ino stared dryly. Hinata poked her fingers together blankly. "Am I… that imperfect…?"

Ino stared back at the lake, throwing a stone. "Perfect sucks. Even I wouldn't want anyone PERFECT."

"Huh?" Hinata stared.

Ino grinned. "They wouldn't need you if they were perfect, right?"

"You wish to be needed by someone?"

Ino just smiled. Less humorous than Hinata's giggles.

"Look you can understand this is you tried." Ino said as Hinata eyed the flower arrangement in her arms.

The cool blonde groaned. She was worse than Sakura.

Ino grabbed the smaller woman's shoulder and leaned in capturing the pale lips in her own.

"I don't need you." She warned the blushing girl who ignored the statement, playing with the platinum hair that flow in from of one of her eyes.

"Want…?" Hinata asked bemusedly.

Ino grumbled, turning away and pouting. Hinata giggled.

This is what she had needed.
