Author's note: I wrote this because a friend asked, 'What if Neville had a twin?'
-Twins-
Hermione cannot imagine having a twin. She just can't imagine waking up every day to greet herself by a different name. It would be odd, she thinks, to not have to look in the mirror to see herself-she would merely look across the breakfast table and there she would be. Of course having a twin might be fun-if she got in the scrapes she does now thanks to Ron and Harry, she could blame it on her twin. Immediately, Hermione feels guilty. It wouldn't be fair to her twin, would it? She couldn't fathom how her twin would feel if she were to blame everything on it. But maybe, she thinks, they'd be so alike that both would be involved in the gimmicks of Harry and Ron. Or maybe they would be like Fred and George-troublemakers that get away with most everything. Or would they be like the Patil twins? One in Ravenclaw, doing well; the other in Gryffindor and the biggest gossip around. Or would they simply be their own breed of twins? Would they like the same things, study the same subjects, and get into the same capers? For a brief moment, Hermione imagines two identical Rons, two Harrys...Hastily, she thinks to herself that it is good that nobody but Fred and George and the Patil sisters were real twins-heaven knew what would happen if two Nevilles were to come to school at the same time. She decides the school would simply not survive.
