Maka sighed as she sat down on the couch of the apartment she`s been living in since she moved with Soul into it, all those years ago.
She patted the little girl´s head and picked her up, placing her on her lap.
The girl almost immediately fell asleep in her arms, her arms around her mother`s neck.
Maka smiled and stroked the girl`s snow white hair.

The girl was small, like all five year olds, and though she had her eyes closed, Maka knew that they had the same shade of red of someone she knew very well. The little girl was actually almost a copy of him, with a few changes here and there. She seemed to have taken few aspects from her mother. But Maka didn`t care. It was like she had another Soul, with some differences again.

She giggled quietly, not to wake up her daughter. She had just remembered how silly she had been when she claimed she didn`t trust men. She`d said that and yet, here she was with her beloved daughter in her arms and married to the best man she`d ever met. She was extremely happy. She remembered how she`d insisted for them to continue living in their apartment... She remembered their wedding…

In the middle of her memories, she heard the door open and realized she`d closed her eyes, enjoying the moment.
Surely Soul thought she`d been sleeping, since he was about to make his way to what used to be his room, but was now theirs, as quietly as possible.

"Soul."

Her voice was barely above a whisper, not to disturb the girl. She felt him turn around.

"Maka?"

"Come here…"

She gave him no explanation to her request; he didn`t need one. He made his way next to her and kissed the top of her head.
She smiled and leaned against him, as he sat down next to them.
He wrapped his arm around both his two most loved people in the world and simply stayed like that. Time did not matter nor did it exist on those moments. It was just them.

They`d found happiness.
