47 years later, after the Season 1 Finale of The Time Tunnel, there was no Time Tunnel, until i found out on IMDB that.
"The series seems to end with a cliffhanger. There was no "series finale" which would have shown the end of Doug & Tony's adventures and their return home. Since the episode ends with footage from reruns of past episodes (a common practice for Irwin Allen productions such as Lost in Space (1965) during summer break), many viewers and critics have interpreted the conclusion to be that Doug & Tony were stuck in an eternal loop of repeating their 30 filmed experiences for all time, a convenient metaphor for syndication. Viewers with upbeat preferences have pointed out that Doug and Tony's signals are reported to be very strong in this episode, and prefer to assume that after their adventure in the Town of Terror, the two men were retrieved safely to Project Tic Toc headquarters."
So, 47 years later, Doug & Tony returned to Project Tic Toc HQ. and Doug & Tony where happy to be back in the HQ.
Dr. Ann MacGregor: "Hello Doug & Tony, welcome back"
Tony: "Thank you, so, what happened to Gen. Heywood Kirk? and Dr. Swain?"
Dr. Ann MacGregor: "They both passed away"
Tony: "I'm so sorry to hear that :("
Tony & Doug where so sad that Gen. Heywood Kirk and Dr. Swain passed away.
Doug: "Well, who's going to replace them?"
Dr. Ann MacGregor: "I don't know yet, i will think about it"
Doug: "Ok"
5 minutes later, Ann thinked about who's going to replace Gen. Heywood Kirk and Dr. Swain. she thinked, and thinked, and thinked, until about 10:00 AM. the vortex started to go crazy!
Tony: "What the heck? What's going on with the vortex?"
Doug: "I don't know, but i think we are going in the, vortex!..."
Ann was running to save Tony & Doug, but the vortex got them, and she screamed.
Dr. Ann MacGregor: "AHHHHHHHHH!"
