Campfire

In a warm summer night just like this, a young couple was wandering in the shadows of this forest.

Thinking about nothing just enjoying the cold night breeze and the silent rustle of the leaves they continued theirway.

She was clinging onto his harm, a little afraid.

He guided her through the dark, spooky night.

At every oh so little noise she would jerk, slightliy trembling and every time he told her everything was okey.

They talked about random things until one moment, for a split of a second, an animal-like scream could be heard.

She, again, was terrified but he didn't think too much about it, they were in a forest after all, of course you would hear animal voices here. And he wanted to appear stong and manly in front of her.( typical xD )

A few minutes later, again the noise crawled between the branches of the lightly shaking trees, louder. They seemed to have approached that "animal".

She suggested to turn around and go back but he calmly proposed to go on and besides the way back home was shorter this way than going all the way back.

The noise could be witnessed again and again, turning louder every step they made and becoming more and more and more violent until it sounded more like roar than a scream.

He, now, was nervous too but didn't want to show it.

And then, a deafening brutal yell was shaking the dark forest roughly. It sounded just like a bear, nothing specail in this area.

He grabbed her her hand and looked her in the eyes, more serious than he had ever seen him.

"RUN!"

And she did.

She ran and ran like she never did before in her whole, short life. Her mind was going blank as she couldn't think about anything than running. Until ahe realized it.

HE wasn't there anymore.

She didn't know when he had let go of her hand or where he was and exactely that made her freeze on her spot.

She couldn't move an inch, out of shock. She tried to call him but all that came out was a breathless wimper and she didn't dare to shout louder, in fear that that "thing" could hear her and doing god knows what to her.

Her breathing was getting harder and harder every passing second, creating a unbearable sound in the deathly silence of the woods. The world started to slow down an everything around her went upside-down. Her comon sense turned off completely.

Hot, wet tears were streaming down her already from swear wedened cheeks.

Her sulking was the only thing that could be heard.

At only one little crack she would absolutely faint and crawl to the ground.

Her eyes slowly slided to her right side looking horribly frightened to her right shoulder.

She could feel someone, no something staying behind her, breathing warm oxid at her neck.

But before she could even blink, everything got black.

"GOT'CHA!"

All the boys screamed in shock of the suddelny outburst.

The campleader fell back from the tree trunk he was sitting on.

"Hilarious! You should see the look on your faces!" he laughed while getting up .

"What happended next?" one of the boy scouts asked curiously.

"Well, the followingdays the police searched everywhere for the couple. Their families did so, too. But until today, they never could have been found by anyone. They say, at warm summernight in August you can still hear the exhausted breathing of the girl who disappeared that night. Believe me, this story is real and just a little example of how brutal und unfair the world can be. It is told that that monster that attacked the couple is still looking for fresh, innocent flesh in the shadows of the night.

Now go to bed, boys.

And sweet dreams...

Muhaha! I love horror!

Maybe related to sinister...but who knows...;)
