GracePOV

Chapter1

I was wondering when I would ever see Connor again, and when I saw him, everything would be like it was a before the big storm. But it wasn't. As Connor jumped onto the deck of the Vampirate Ship, and threatened the guy that saved my life, everything turned backwards.

"Stay back!" Connor yells as he points his rapier at Loran's chest, stepping forward another inch.

"Loran get inside, the sun is rising!" Darcy yells from the Dawning Bell. Worried, I look past the port side of the bow and discover that the sun was peeking over the gray ocean.

"What is it what's going on?" asked Connor, looking at me with an expression of confusion.

"Connor, I can explain, but first I must get Lorcan inside his cabin!" I yell over the blistering wind. I run toward Lorcan and push him to the door of his cabin just before the sun brightens the ocean, turning it a blue-green color. I quickly shove Lorcan in his cabin and ran up the stairs were I found my brother looking at me like I was some newly discovered insect.

"What is going on?" Connor asks again, but this time looking into my eyes in a way that I couldn't look away.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"Try me."

After I explained everything, he looked at me with not confusion but understanding. We stare at each other for the longest 10 seconds of my life.

"Oh Connor, I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you to sis. But we have to leave now. My shipmate Bart is losing his patience. We were going to celebrate at Ma Kettles Tavern tonight." Explained Connor, looking as excited as ever.

"I will miss my friends, can I have a few minutes to say good bye?"

"All right, but hurry up."

I turn around to say my good byes to my good friend Darcy Flotsam, the wooden figure of the Vampirate Ship.

"Darcy, I will miss you so much and I will see you very soon, I promise." I said, tears running down my cheeks.

"I will miss you to and I want you to have this. It was my grandmothers when she was little; I got it for my ninth birthday." Darcy handed me a small locket with a hand painted rose on it. I opened it and I found a picture of Darcy, looking a few years younger.

"Oh Darcy, this is so beautiful! I love it and I will treasure it for as long as I live."

I give Darcy one last hug and walk toward Lorcan, hidden in his cabin.

"Will I ever see you again Grace?"

"Of course you will, I couldn't live without seeing you again."

"Goodbye Grace."

"Goodbye Lorcan."

I've never had this long of a hug before, but I'm glad I could experience it with someone I really cared about. I gave Lorcan a quick kiss on the cheek, not noticing Connor pulling me away until I opened my eyes. I looked around the ship one last time, and to top off the moment, the Captain's whispery voice sounded in my head.

"So it ends, so it begins."
