This story is just some rambling fluff that popped into my head one day in math class. It appears that algebra is actually good for something after all. Or not…anyway, it's very short.

"Gil, Gil. Wake up sleepyhead." Laamgarnus said excitedly, shaking the cat youkai awake. "Rise and shine!"

Gil rolled over, facing the wall and mumbling something incoherent.

"Wake up, silly. I have something to show you."

Gil shifted just enough to stare back at the man. "Hm?"

Laamgarnus chuckled. "You have to get up to see it. Get dressed and come outside."

The still-tired Gil waited until Laamgarnus had left the room before getting out of bed. He winced as the bright morning sun hit his eyes. Pulling on a worn blue sweater and some pants, the youkai padded out of his room and tugged at the doorknob before stepping outside.

Gil's eyes widened at the sight before him. The entire yard was covered in a white sheet that glittered in the sunlight. Laam had told him about snow before, but Gil hadn't expected it to be so…nice.

Laam was standing next to a tree covered in shiny silver strings with red, blue, gold, and green-colored orbs. A golden star was on the top of the tree.

Laam smiled at the surprised look on Gil's face. "Do you like it?"

Gil nodded and walked over to the tree, admiring the ornaments. "Yes. But…what's it for?"

Laam blinked in surprise, but then smiled slightly. "You haven't heard of Christmas before, have you?"

The cat demon frowned. "No."

"Well, on Christmas you decorate a small tree and give gifts to people. Speaking of which…" Laamgarnus turned and knelt down by the tree, searching for something behind it. After a few seconds he pulled out a box covered in green, shiny paper. Laam handed it to a somewhat confused Gil. "Go ahead and open it."

It was Gil's turn to blink as he stared at the box he held. Hesitantly he tore the paper away and lifted up the lid of the box.

Inside was a brand new red sweater, along with a pair of matching mittens, a stuffed brown bear with a green ribbon tied around its neck, and a small box of pocky.

Gil looked back at Laam. "It's for me?"

"Yes." Laamgarnus answered. Gil stared at the gifts for a few seconds, then dropped them in the snow before throwing his arms around Laamgarnus.

"Thank you." He mumbled, burying his head against Laam's chest.

Laam chuckled and embraced Gil in return. "Merry Christmas, Kitten."

Later, the two fell asleep on the couch by the fire, Gil purring softly with Laam's arm wrapped around his waist as Gil held the stuffed bear close.
