Breathe
Clarisse walked through the hallway, ignoring the whispers she knew were about her. Yes, she desperately wanted to show those mortals their place, but she refrained. She thought about what Silena used to tell her, before she died;
Breathe. Think happy thoughts.
She'd gotten suspended a month ago, for knocking a couple of teeth out of some punk's mouth. It hadn't been a big deal, kids lost teeth all the time at Camp Half-Blood. Nectar took care of that.
But Chiron told her that if she got suspended again, he'd send her to a boarding school. That wasn't something Clarisse wanted.
Clarisse attended Edison High School, located about forty-five minutes away from Camp. She woke up early, and Argus drove her to school, and he picked her up at the end of the day.
Why were there whispers, you might ask?
Simply because Clarisse didn't really have friends, nor did she want any. Clarisse knew she was different from the shallow, stupid high-school girls, and she was glad. She had no desire to talk to them.
Clarisse was violent, we all know that. Everyone thought she lived at a shelter, or something of the sort.
She now knew what Tyson felt like.
Sometimes, the girls had the guts to come up to her and ask why she didn't have friends, or where she lived. She'd heard it all; ugly, weird, mean, and some much worse.
Clarisse just held on to the fact that at the end of the day, she could go rage about those girls to Chris, who'd gladly listen.
She opened her locker door, and froze as she heard the familiar click of heels. Clarisse called them the "Pack" because they never traveled alone.
They marched up to her, and Sophia, their leader slammed Clarisse's locker door shut.
Clarisse's hands were balled into fists, and she tried to channel Silena's voice,
Breathe. Think happy thoughts.
She thought of making fun of Percy, holding hands with Chris. She thought of her best friend, down in Elysium.
Sophia snapped her gum, "Hey, Freak."
Clarisse sighed, and started counting her breaths, "Hello. What do you want?"
One, two, three.
The blonde smiled, "Oh, nothing really. It just makes me feel better to look at someone so ugly."
Four, five, six.
"You should look in a mirror."
Seven, eight, nine.
She laughed, "Oh, I beg to differ. No one would ever like you. I have to fight the boys off."
Clarisse stopped counting.
"I actually have a boyfriend."
Sophia smirked, "As if."
Clarisse stalked out of the building, sighing as she heard them following her.
She sat down underneath the pavilion, on the concrete.
Looking up, she saw Sophia glaring down at her,
"Stop lying, hun."
Hun.
Clarisse heard a voice, a very familiar voice, "Hey! That's my thing!"
Clarisse looked up from the ground, and saw Drew Tanaka glaring at Sophia.
Her eyes widened, "Barbie?"
Then, she noticed that the camp van had pulled into the parking lot, and was bursting at the seams with kids.
Annabeth and Percy tumbled out, along with Will, Nyssa, Leo, Piper, Jason, Reyna; who was visiting, Lexia, Lyrical, Bella, Nico, Thalia and Chris.
Chris.
She hopped up, off her butt, and threw herself into Chris' arms. Clarisse didn't care for PDA, but she just needed to hug Chris.
Don't judge.
Clarisse smirked at Sophia, "Sophia, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend, Chris Rodriguez."
A/N: OH MY GODS, THE CLARRIS FEELS! Sorry 'bout that, just fangirling. I don't even know why I wrote this, I've been trolling tumblr, and BAM, this happens. So, I finished Invasion, and the one-shots won't stop coming! I'm not really complaining, though.
Yours in demigodishness and all that. Peace out.
