A/N: Because I've always wondered about the relationship between Piangi and Carlotta.

She was a very bratty diva who couldn't take it when things didn't go her way. She wasn't a good singer at all, but she believed herself one. People generally didn't like her, but she would convince herself that she was loved. She couldn't handle being upstaged or laughed at. Really, no one cared much for the famous La Carlotta.

Except for her lover, Piangi. Because he knew her before she was a diva, he knew her when she was an unconfident girl, struggling to become famous. Piangi knew how she used to be and he saw a side of her that nobody, nobody saw.

He saw that she still didn't have confidence, he saw that it was all an act, he saw how torn up she was when Christine Daae began to replace her. He knew the real Carlotta, knew her soft side, because he was the only person she would be soft with.

Yes, she was a diva, yes, she was shrill, yes, she had a lot of faults. But Piangi knew her the way she really was and he wouldn't have wanted her any other way.

A/N: and thus ends my second PotO phic. Already, my obsession is fading, so I need to crank out as much as I can. Currently, my fangirl mind lies with The Music Man.
