Shane's POV.

3 minutes, 2 minutes. Oh why does French class always seem to never end?

It's Friday afternoon and here I am, sitting in French class, waiting for the bell to ring signalling the end of the day. I don't know why I even bother coming to school on a Friday. First period is biology, then math. Possibly the worst two classes to have together.

In biology we're dissection frogs, and I faint at the sight of blood. And to make matters worse, all the guys make fun of me because I'm a guy. In math, we're studying geometry, and I get absolutely none of it. Therefore, I get extra homework that I have to do over the weekend.

The bell finally rings, and no surprise, I'm the first one out of the classroom. I reach my locker and start packing all the maths homework into my backpack, when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

I turn around and see my bestfriend Nate behind me.

"Yo, hoops. You up for a game of basketball at the courts? Me, Jason and Carter need a fourth player." He says, while spinning a basketball on his finger.

Yep, 'hoops' is my nickname. Mainly because I'm the captain of the school basketball team and that's what all the guys in the team call me.

"Ah, sure. Mum's not expecting me home till 5." I reply, slamming the locker door shut.

Nate and I make our way down the corridor towards the door leading to the bus stop, saying bye to all our mates along the way. It's a half an hour walk to the courts, but only 5 minutes via the bus.

We round the corner and I can feel the butterflies fluttering away in my stomach as Mitchie Torres comes into view. Her brown, wavy hair flying behind her, kind of like you see on all the ads. She's hypnotizing.

I've had a crush on her since Primary School, but at the time I wasn't aware of it. We were bestfriends, inseparable bestfriends. We always hung out after school, on the weekends and we even wrote 'Shane & Mitchie, BF4L' on all our books.

Once we both started here at Longview High School, we've drifted apart. She made new girlfriends, and once I became captain of the basketball team, I was 'Mr Popular' and suddenly everyone's my friend. The only time we speak these days is when we pass each other in the corridors, and even then it's only a quick 'Hi' or 'Hello'.

I snap out of my thoughts, when I feel Nate elbow me in the side. He knows I like her, probably because I tell him on a daily basis.

I look over at Nate, and he gives me the 'go talk to her' look. I just shake my head in return. I'm not ready to be completely humiliated in front on my bestfriend and my mates.

Next thing I know, I'm being pushed in her direction.

"Oh, hi Shane." Mitchie says, smiling brightly at me. Gosh, her teeth are perfect.

"Ah, h-hi." I stutter back. 'Nice one Shane, you're such a douche.' I think to myself.

"Are you okay?" she asks. I look back in the direction of Nate, and he replies with a thumbs up.

I turn back to Mitchie and take a deep breath.

"Look Mitchie, I really like you. I have ever since Primary School." I somehow manage to get out in one breath.

She just looks at me with her mouth slightly open.

So what did you guys think? Should I leave it as a one-shot, or add more chapters?
Please review and let me know. :D
