It was a dance they had done many times before. Their bodies moved perfectly in sync. As she would twist, he would turn. It was as if they were a mirror for the other. When she leaped into his arms, there was a trust; she knew he would catch her. They hadn't always had this kind of chemistry, not at first. As they were forced into partnership, they became more comfortable. What started as hate became respect for the other ones talent and dedication which in turn became a hidden love for their partner. Each dancer stared the other down, even as the choreography pulled them apart, they were connected, almost like soul mates.
Him, with his bared chest and sculpted musculature, captivated every female audience member, and his partner. His blonde hair fell to cover his steel colored eyes, only to be whipped away by a sudden leap or pirouette. His presence on the stage was amazing. He radiated power, confidence, and he oozed sensuality. He was slender and lithe, catlike and graceful in his movements. He would occasionally have a burst of pure power which would awe even those who knew him the longest. He seemed larger than life. He seemed a god.
Her, with her accented curves and bared legs, held close the eyes of her male audience, including the one that occupied the stage beside her. Her brown waves were held in check by an elegant twist and many bobby pins. Her caramel eyes sparkled, even without the glittered eyeshadow. She moved with the grace of a lioness and leaped with the power of the jungle cats. Her movements were fierce but controlled. She seemed to be her partner's perfect match. If he seemed a god, why would he not take a goddess?
The chains around the pair's wrists sparkled in the lights and tinkled with their movements. The final moment of the song was approaching. He slipped his arms over her head and they settled around her waist as she slipped her arms over his head and rested her hands on his neck. As the final note played, she did something not in the original choreography; she pulled him towards her and kissed him. The students and faculty of Hogwarts gasped as they watched the scene before them. But to the couple on stage, they were the only people in the world. As the applause started, the man broke the passionate kiss, even as the chains dissolved. He stared into the eyes of the woman he loved.
Finally, they could be together. Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger bowed to accept the applause, then returned to their Head's dorm so they could continue what they begun.
