Harriet Potter, better known as Harry to her friends; looked around the great hall, as she stepped into it, the noise from the Slytherin table drew her attention and at the centre of it all was Draco Malfoy, sitting looking smugly pleased with himself. Harry rolled her eyes, since her defeat of Voldemort last year, she and Malfoy had called an odd truce, one in which they didn't speak to one another, though to be honest Harry liked the odd truce, especially as Malfoy left her and her friends alone. Harry thought nothing of Malfoy's attitude because he was acting his usual arrogant self, the fifth of June was just another day at Hogwarts and Harry only had one year left to put up with Malfoy's arrogant attitude then she was completely Malfoy free. It was like a breath of fresh air as realisation hit her and it made her smile.

Though strange thing was she seemed to be the only one out of her friends who seemed to have realised this, Ron was scowling harder then usual at the Slytherin table, even Hermione had a sombre look.

"What's the matter? Something happened?" Harry asked. It was Hermione who answered her.

"Malfoy turned seventeen."

It was barely just above a whisper that Harry strained herself to hear her friend.

"So!" Harry said, though she knew the importance of a seventieth, but she failed to see why her friends seemed so bothered about Malfoys.

"He came into his inheritance." Hermione explained subtly.

Harry glanced over to the Slytherin table, so that had been what all the fuss was about.

"Oh please tell me he's a Puffskein."

Ron snorted, even Hermione gave her an amazed smile. Though magically Harry knew it was impossible to become a Puffskein she was glad she made her friends return to themselves slightly. She glanced once more to the Slytherin table, Malfoys' creature inheritance it was a big deal and considering his complexion the obvious was Vella but Harry never recalled Fleur causing this much of a stir, yes she had attracted boys attention but still, the Slytherin house seemed to be worshiping Malfoy more then usual.

"So what did he turn out to be then?" Harry said, "no wait don't tell me ... he turnt out to be a ferret after all."

"I wish," Ron chuckled deeply, "he's a Neko."

Harry swallowed though Neko as far as she knew were rare, but one of the largest clans of Neko were also in Britain, and that they also had mates, she also knew a person who was a Neko could maintain either forms: a human or panther like form. Other then that she did not know much about them.

"He's been boosting all morning about it."

Harry glanced towards Ron, she knew some pureblood families had some line of creature in them, the Weasley's however did not. It was not something that overly bothered Harry and Hermione as a Muggle-born witch would not gain any creature inheritance.

"So what's new, Malfoys always boosting about something -"

"He said he was going to be heir to the Neko Clan -"

"Ooohhh, so he is going to have an official title - Neko Prince instead of the Ice Prince of Hogwarts." Harry murmured, rolling her eyes, "I don't care I'm not going to treat him any different, royal prat or not, because this is Malfoy after all, he has a tendency to stretch the truth to how he wants, so he can make himself look better. Now I don't care that Malfoy senior, Malfoy junior and Snape were on our side after all, I only owe Mrs Malfoy any respect for she did save my life."

"Nothing phases you does it?" Hermione said.

"I took on a dragon at the age of fourteen, Dementors when I was thirteen, a crazy mad man since the age of eleven and defeated him last year," Harry said thoughtfully, "so unless you happen to be one of Voldemort's Death Eaters that are after me but happen to be on the run, I think I'm good."

"Oh I can think of one thing that phases you," Ginny said as she slid onto the bench next to Harry. "Boys."

Harry groaned, rolling her eyes, "Boys do not phase me, your brother is one of my best friends."

"Yes," Ginny conceded, "But you haven't dated any Harry. And I think you're a little - well not scared- but I suppose afraid in a way, so yes, boys phase you."

"Boys are idiots." Harry said sharply - "Most boys," she added softly in Ron's and Neville's directions. Harry's last attempt at a date had not been successful. She did not want to go through anything like it again.

"You could have anyone you wanted - if you asked."

"There be the main problem Ginny." Harry said, "Some boys when I speak to them just shut down completely. Others talk about themselves and one even tried to sneak love potion chocolates under my very nose this past year, and we all know how that turned out."

"I refuse to talk about the love potion incident, thank you very much," Ron said firmly, which made Harry, Hermione and Ginny giggle.

"Besides, the point I was making is unless someone can see me for me, be with me for who I am, then I don't think I want to know them." Harry said.

"Well you're never going to know unless you give someone a chance."

Harry should have realised her next words would come sooner then she thought they would. "Give someone a chance, I don't see that happening anytime soon." With that she got up from the table, and told them. "I'm heading to class."

Lost in her own thoughts she paid not much attention to her surroundings, all she knew was one moment the Great Hall entrance doors had no one else near them - the next she went colliding into another lifeform. Arms went to steady the other person as they did the same to her, but magic hit her senses - it felt warm and welcoming, oddly very comforting and quite suddenly Harry did not feel at all steady upon her feet, her head spun, the last thing she caught a glimpse of was eyes of mercury, before she blacked out.
