A/N: A sequel to The Tragedy

After that traumatic experience of nearly drowning while trying to save his brother; Topsy has been getting flashbacks. He is losing sleep, he's not the playful child he once was and his near-death experience has caused him to start wetting the nest. A lot of the kids in the herd would tease him about it; except for his sisters and friends. Thanks to the words his dad said to him; he has become anti-social.

Topsy sat by himself and watched all the kids play together. Soon enough, his mother Theresa came up behind him. She gently nuzzled his back with her head; that made the grieving child feel loved knowing he has at least one parent since his dad disowned him.

"At least I still have you and the girls, Mom," Topsy told her.

Theresa sighed sadly since her mate practically said he hated Topsy.

"I know what your dad said the other day hurt your feelings," Theresa replied.

Topsy nodded and turned his head when his eyes started tearing up. Theresa felt bad for her only son and hoped he would get over this. However, children take longer to recover from traumatic experiences than grown ups. Even though, some grown ups take a long time to recover from certain traumas.

"I know you miss your brother; we all do," Theresa told him.

"I'd give anything to get him back; even if it means I would go in his place," Topsy claimed.

"Oh Topsy; don't say that; I miss that playful little boy," Theresa said.

Topsy sighed.

"I just don't feel like playing or smiling; ever since the incident at the watering hole," Topsy admitted.

Theresa nodded sadly knowing that Topsy had changed for the worst; instead of better. Her own mate had blamed the death of her other son on Topsy even though he tried to save him.

"I saw that you wet the nest two nights in a row; it's nothing to be ashamed of; lots of kids wet the nest," Theresa stated.

Topsy felt better after talking with his mom. He even smiled a bit. She was happy to see him cheer up somewhat. Topsy may have lost his brother and been disowned by his dad; but, he can still count on his mother, sisters and friends to be there for him when times get tough.
