Chapter 1
It's the last night of summer for 8 year old Luke Danes and he is sitting with his parent's at thier picnic table outside thier summer home eating thier last summer time bqed meal.
''I can't believe tonight is the last night of summer and I start school again the day after tomorrow!'' Luke says
''I know your going to be in the big 3rd grade now bud!'' his mom says
''are you excited to be starting the 3rd grade bud?'' he his dad asks him
''yea do you think that there are going to be a lot of new girls?'' he asks them
his parents stop eating and looks up at him.
''since when are you interested in girls and yea I'm surethere are going to be a lot of new girls baby.'' his mom tells him
Luke just shrugs and goes back to eating his hot dog.
''are you excited to get back to Stars Hollow?'' his mom asks him
Luke just shrugs ''ye...yea I guess.'' he says
''are you all packed up and ready to go son so after dinner and we can leave?'' his dad asks him
Luke just nods
''I still have a few more thing's to get packed up and into the camper so it might take me at least until sundown.'' she tells him
''oh man okay.'' her husband says
''are we coming back here next summer?'' Luke asks them
''yea of course we are baby doll if you want to!'' his mom tells him
''can I maybe bring a friend with us next time if I meet a new one this school year?'' he asks her
''oh uh yea sure of course baby.'' his mom tells him
''good.'' he says and continue's eating
''what time are we leaving?'' he asks them
''well I would like to be back in Stars Hollow tomorrow by 6am because I have to work so as soon as your mother gets the rest of the stuff packed up we are hitting the road.'' his father tells him
''oh okay.'' Luke says
''did you have a good summer son?'' his dad asks him
''oh yea I did!'' Luke says
''good.'' his father says
