Title: Take Me To The Dance

Series: Adventure Time

Pairing: Marceline/Bubble

It is spring time. The birds sang, flowers bloomed, and the hour of my annual Gum-Ball is approaching. Even though the Candy Kingdom always had an annual ball, this year was different. I am nervous, tense, and dare I say, worried. You see, I still haven't found a date yet!

I was hoping to go as "just friends" with Finn again, but he was already taken when I asked him yesterday. He claims he's going with some girl named "Fiona". What kind of name is Fiona anyway? Well, it's not like I'm jealous. I'm sure he'll look quite nice with whatever troll-girl he brings with him.

"I'm running out of options." I began to pace around my bedroom, clinching my brow.

My window suddenly became covered in black. I could no longer see the clouds outside. "It's not even five o'clock yet, how could it be night?" I must be losing my mind. I placed one hand on the ledge and reached the other out. "hair?"

"boo!" A voice errupted from the mess of hair and frightened me. I jumped back, but was unable to regain my balance. THUD! I fell.

"Marcy!" I cried, rubbing my rear end. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. She probably came to rub it in that Finn is going to the ball with someone else. I'll just "play it cool", as Finn would say.

Marceline entered hair first. "What's up, Bonnibell?" She looked at me with a grin. She was a sly one alright, but I won't let her irk me.

"Nothing, just planning for the Gum-Ball." I sat on the edge of my bed. "Will you be attending?" I looked up at her with intrigue, she won't have me the fool.

"Maybe" She approached slowly, floating on air.

"Oh?" I couldn't help but advert my eyes.

"Yeah, I don't have a date yet."

And who wouldn't want to date her? "Neither do I."

I began to tease my hair in an attempt to ignore her. She sat down next to me. She focused herself on my eyes. Why me? "Wanna. . .go with me?"

"With you?" I jumped back a little. That was unexpected. Who would say that? I'm not sure what to think right now.

"As friends?"

"Just friends?"

"Or," She leaned in closer. From this short distance I could easily smell her perfume. It's a fragrance I can't forget. So sweet that it makes me light headed. It makes me desires things I shouldn't. Her lips, pale, came closer with each passing second. I was fixated on them. I watched closely as they parted with each word she uttered gently. "More?" Before I could respond\ she forced her lips on mine. I was in a daze. For once, I felt like I was walking on air.

I wrapped my arms around her thin, pale body. She fell with me onto the center of my bed. Her hair so soft and silky. I felt like I was melting. Her kiss. I never felt anything like this before. And suddenly. She pulled away.

She sat up straight, fixed her top, and looked at me. "So?'

What could I say? I reached out for her hand and brought to my warm face. My cheeks were painted red. Her hand felt ice cold compared to my skin. I kissed her wrist, looked up at her, and smiled.
