It drums into your head as you read through a dictionary

Splenetic

It seemed like a heavy burden to carry

Splenetic, splenetic

To be irritable was something you can't fathom

Splenetic, splenetic, splenetic

To be peevish was even worse

Splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic

To be spiteful was like a curse in your naïve mind

Splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic

So as you read through those dark, faded nine words again and again

Splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic

It finally crashes in your mind like a wagon racing down a steep hill

Splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic, splenetic

That people weren't perfect, loving, calm tempered animals like you

?

You stagger away

Holding your green hands in front of your face in horrified realization

That even your friends will act like this

And even you will act in a splenetic manner
