Santa de la Cruz – Seven Ways to Die

Kyou Kara Rin

The feverish prisoner was brought before the Pharaoh of Egypt. He held her head tenderly and stared into her eyes. Her once blue eyes blazed with fury, and her golden hair was stained with the blood of the Romans.

"You know, Rosario, there are seven ways that a man can die," said the Pharaoh. He threw her to the floor. "You can beat him, bleed him, choke him, break him, drown him, burn him, or crucify him. Of these seven methods, I am going to use your most hated. I will bleed you and crucify you."

"You will never get away with this! Christ our Savior and the good Lord our God will make sure that you will be killed in the vilest way possible, and it will all be in the name of the Christian Faith!" Rosario screamed, and spat in his face. He wiped the spit off his face.

"I've had enough of you. Guards, take her to the courtyard and crucify her!" The guards quickly complied.

You could hear the young girl's agonistic screams all over Egypt, or so they say. She cried out to Jesus and to the Lord to ease the pain. The Pharaoh strode over to the girl with a knife in his hand. He would ease her pain soon enough.

"Any last words, Rosario?" He asked.

"Yes," she replied, spitting at him again. "You haven't seen the last of me. In two thousand years, I will return to finish what the Lord sent me to start. His Son, Jesus Christ, will be avenged, and you, as Christ's enemy, will fall to the might of the Lord!"

"I've had enough of you and your foolish words."

He slashed her throat to form a cross, and let her blood spill on the ground. With each drop, her martyrdom was proclaimed. As her eyes glazed over, the pact was sealed. She would return to this world in two thousand years, and keep her promises. The Saint of the Cross, or Santa de la Cruz, would fall into myth, and myth would become legend and fade away into the shadows. However, she would remain alive in her state of death, due to the ignorance of one single Pharaoh: Yami.
