Snow Angel

AN: CBS owns NCIS and its characters, not me.

This piece is an interstitial in my new story, Full Circle. Enjoy!

He held her in his arms and watched the snow falling with entranced eyes. She was real and warm, pressed against him as they danced to music only they could hear. The snow landed in her hair, but it lasted only a moment before melting into diamonds that sparkled in the moonlight. It was the best first snow of the season that he could remember, and she was glad just to be in the arms of the man she loved and had dreamed about for seventy-two months of long, unyielding solitude. She met him on tiptoe and kissed him deeply and passionately until the snow coated them both. They broke apart, grinning at each other with giddiness. He packed a snowball in his gloved hand and pretended to toss it playfully in her direction until her golden-tinged laugh echoed through the air. She returned the gesture but hit her target with a squeal of glee. It was as if the night went on forever, but they did not fear the dawn. For this night was only the beginning. The first snowfall was the first chapter of their regained life together.
