I stared at her in shock. Of course she loves me! We've been dating for almost 3 years! I was going to propose to her after I finished college! I stepped forward and grabbed her shoulders hard. I knew I was probably leaving bruises, but I couldn't bring myself to care right now. "Liar! You know you love me Artemis!" she flinched back with tears running down her face. I grabbed the back f her neck and pulled her into a bruising kiss. She whimpered and struggled to get away. I broke away with a gasp. What was I doing? I took in her bruised shoulders and lips. Her crying face. The way she flinched from me. I fell to my knees in despair. A figure moved in the shadows and Cheshire stepped out. I looked back at Artemis to see her pointing a gun at my head.
"Artemis, why?"
She shrugged. "Blood run thicker than water."
I watched her pull the trigger and everything slowed down in front of me. I knew I had time to run, but I was in too much shock. I finally moved, but moved too slowly. The bullet grazed my cheek. I glared at Artemis, she looked down at the gun. I grunted as three darts hit me in the chest. I glanced at Cheshire to see her grab Artemis' arm. She was telling her something, but I couldn't make out a word. Must be poison tipped darts. I pressed the distress button that Nightwing gave me a while ago. He'd be here in a few minutes. My body gave a spasm as the first wave of pain hit, causing me to fall to the ground. I gave in to the blackness with the next wave of pain.
Artemis' P.O.V.
I kissed him one last time and whispered "I'm so sorry wally" before leaving with Cheshire.
Nightwing's P.O.V.
I arrived at Wally's house just minutes after receiving the distress call. I nticed the gun on the table and a pale Wally on the floor with darts sticking out of his chest. Cheshire was here, which means the war finally started. I picked him up and took him to my home. I needed to warn the others.
