A/N: I had detention today because of unexcused tardies(so gay)and I had nothing to do so I thought I'd try writing a poem. This kind of wrote itself but when I looked back on it I liked it so I hope you all will too. Rated R for suicide. Enjoy!
Goodbyes said too late by Hitsugayaluver
Icy eyes made of burning amber
Peer into a troubled soul
One whose warmth spreads over all
Yet receives only burdens of life's toll

Except from the one that guards her
The one that makes her whole
The one who's peering into the depths
Of her very troubled soul

And as the eyes burn deeper and deeper
Down into her core
She sees in them a light, a flicker
An emotion none have seen before
--
He loves her, she knows this
But they could never be
Because demons live in a different world
Than those the same as she
--
They're not meant to be together
Doing so only brings pain
Because one will die and one will live
Forever a life of shame

So he's leaving her here all alone
With those whom she can trust
Although he does not want to go
He knows in his heart he must

And so they say their final words
Not with their mouths, but eyes
And as he turns and walks away
Silently she cries

He hears her tears fall to the ground
And smells the salty scent
But does not stop and still walks on
Away to where he's meant

She watches him until he's gone
And can no longer see
The one who stole her heart from her
And threw away the key

And as she stands there feeling lost
Abandoned and afraid
She pulls suddenly from its sheath
Her hidden tanto blade

It was a gift from long ago
But now a deadly tool
To use for what she truly needs
She won't be made a fool

And now the blade connects with wrist
On the skin a line of red
And then it streams and trickles down
Soon she will be dead

And as she falls first to her knees
Then limply to her side
Her vision goes in and out
And darkness soon resides

But as she's lying still there
Broken on the ground
She whispers out just one last thing
A strange and foreign sound
--
And then she goes and slips away
And leaves forevermore
Behind the life she once did have
It's now an even score
--
Her final words hang in the air
And receive a mournful cry
From the one who came too late
But in time to see her die
--
He had come back to tell her
What she had just told him
And now he wants to join her
He wants his life to end
--
But he knows it will not happen
So he leaves her with a sigh
Rin's words will stay with him forever
I will always love you
