Emma Swan was running as fast as she could, her legs becoming numb, but she had to keep moving. She could hear Hook right behind her. "Keep running!" he yelled behind her. "Don't stop!" he screamed, urgency in his voice.
She and Hook had just found Henry from where Pan was keeping him and were now running like hell from a massive beast that had been unleashed upon them. It was unlike anything Emma had ever seen. Huge, furry, razor sharp teeth. That, Emma could remember clearly. "Don't look back Henry, just keep going!" Emma yelled at her son as he attempted to look back.
From the corner of her eye, Emma could see the ship coming back into view and was filled with relief as her parents, Gold, & Regina came into view. They weren't necessarily close, but they weren't that far away either. Her legs were aching and she was sure Henry and Hook were feeling the same. "Mom!" she screamed, as loud as she could, her mother turning towards her voice and spotting them.
Suddenly, she heard a blood curdling scream from behind her and stopped abruptly, fear taking over her senses. The beast had apparently thrown Hook against a tree and had him cornered. "No." Emma whispered to herself. Turning around quickly, she saw her mother and the others running towards them and screamed "Take Henry!" as she turned around quickly, towards Hook.
Hook was on the ground, injured, and the beast was about to strike. He was stepping closer to him, his paws raised as if to finish him off with his jagged claws alone. Hook screamed at her. "Emma, stay back!" She was running. She was panicking. "NO!" she screamed. Flinging herself in front of him, she held him and closed her eyes, expecting pain.
Nothing came.
She could hear Hook breathing heavily. Or was that her? Opening her eyes slowly, she peeked behind her and her mouth fell open. Around them was a blue aura, a shield, blocking them from the monster. What the hell? she thought to herself. The beast was clawing at them, but they could not be reached. From their right, she saw a burst of purple and the monster fell on its back, unmoving. She looked and saw Regina and the others step toward them, Snow clutching Henry in front of her.
Hook winced. "Are you okay?" she asked him, the shield still around them, yet fading slowly. "Am I okay?!" he asked. "What the bloody hell were you thinking, putting yourself in danger like that?!" he yelled at her. Realizing they had an audience, Emma turned and looked at Gold. "What the hell did I just do?" she asked him. She knew she had magic, but she thought that was only when she tried to bring it out. Whatever shield she just managed to conjure up wasn't something she was trying to do.
Glaring at them, Gold's mouth was set in a thin line. He didn't seem to want to spit it out, but slowly, he spoke.
"I told you Dearie. Magic…..it's about emotion."
End.
