There was a sigh in the streets of Tokyo. He had barely escaped the mansion, using the Vortex Manipulator he kept well hidden. The psychotic Time Lord, he used to call himself The Master, was tired of everything, what good did all his plans ever do, except cause him pain? Maybe it was time to just retire. Hopefully the Earth authorities or the Doctor would find him so he could live out his remaining 3 regenerations out in comfort. He walked along the path, staring up at the massive screens which showed Gallifrey descending upon Earth, his latest failure. He entered the noodle bar and sat down, ordering the beef variety, he needed something to get rid of that oh so familiar taste of defeat. Maybe he would go back to his original name of Koschei Oakdown perhaps, or create a fake one like he had done so many times before.
The 20 year old sighed, as he trudged through the streets, kicking a can of coke along the way. Why did he do this? He hated his job, but it kept him fed and warm. Alone. In his little apartment, the same one he had moved into with his father 9 years ago after his mother's death. And there was Amane too. She died in the same car crash as Mother, 8 years old, and Ryou still hadn't gotten over it. He couldn't. Because after their deaths it all went downhill. New school, new start Dad had said. That school had been hell, but only because his Ancient Egyptian ancestor had made it so, fighting with his arch nemesis, Shadow Game after Shadow Game, and the result was always the same, Yami's defeat and Ryou's hospitalization. He tried begging Yugi to stop. He tried on the Zeppelin, and Yugi still attacked with his God Card, knowing full well it could have killed him. He should have realised none of them truly cared. He saw a noodle bar up ahead. "I could do with something to eat." He entered it and sat on the only available table, next to a blonde man ravenously consuming noodles like he was starving. He ordered, and for a brief second the two locked eyes and saw in them each other's pain. Koschei now understood why The Doctor liked having human companions.
