"Eli, put me down!" Clare yelled.

Eli pretended to not be listening as he carried her over his shoulder.

"Where are you taking me and why didn't you just tell me to come instead of throwing me over your shoulder in front of the whole yearbook club? Eli, they had cameras!"

She hit him with her fists on his back, but he didn't even flinch. After a few tries, she just sighed and gave up.

"Done so soon, Blue Eyes?"

"Where are we going?" She asked softly, controlling her temper.

"Can't tell you."

"So you're just going to carry me all the way over there without me knowing where we're going?"

"Yep."

"You know that's technically kidnapping, right?"

"Not if you end up liking where we go." She could hear the smirk at the end of his sentence. She groaned and said,

"You're impossible."

"That's why you love me."

She gasped at his statement, making it seem false even though it was true.

"How do you know if I love you?" She shouted.

He laughed at her cuteness and said,

"Calm down, I was joking, although you did say that a bit too quickly for my liking." He bent down and put her on the grass. "Is there something I should know, Miss Clare?"

"There's something I need to know, what are we doing here?"

Eli had brought her to the park, which was a bit deserted except for some kids and elderly walking by. There was a place nearby that was special to them and it looked as if she didn't remember.

"We're a few steps away from our destination. Come on." Eli reached out his hand. She took it and blushed at the contact. She looked away, hoping he didn't see it, but he did.

Simple gestures always made her blush, one more thing he loved about her.

After two minutes of walking, Eli stopped abruptly. Clare looked around, only to see a picnic table and trees around it.

Then, it hit her. This was where they first kissed… for the Romeo and Juliet video project, but it was still their first kiss nonetheless.

Eli might not know it, or ever will, but this place meant a lot to her because of that moment. The best five seconds of her life.

They came up to the table and sat down on the same side.

"Eli," She took a breath in, knowing what he was going to do, tell her that the kiss meant nothing to him. "We came here to talk about what happened…here, right?"

He nodded and looked down.

"We had planned a quick; simple kiss for the video, but it didn't feel that way. It felt like so...so…"

"Real." She said finishing his sentence. He nodded in agreement. "I feel the same way."

Tears were already threatening to fall.

This was it. She knew he didn't like her, the way she loved him. Not even close.

"Clare, I'm going to be honest here and you might not feel the same way after this, but," He paused and took one more breath in. "I liked it, a lot."

Her mouth gaped open at the last five words. She really didn't see that coming.

"Wow, and here I thought you would say the complete opposite." She giggled and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "I do feel the same way, Eli, but I bet it would've been a lot better if Adam wasn't there with a camera staring at us."

"Well, he isn't here now." He said as they parted.

"Hmm, true."

They both leaned in and kissed for the second time at that table, in that park.

6 Months Later

They parted from their kiss and looked at each other, smiling.

There they were, celebrating a special day at a special place to both of them.

"Happy six month anniversary." He said. "I love you."

"I love you, too."
