Timeline: Obi-wan is about to become Qui- Gon's padawan
As Qui-Gon Jinn stood before the jedi council, Yoda asked him, "So Qui-Gon, take Obi-Wan as a padawan you will?" " Yes Master Yoda." Qui-Gon answered. "Good it will be, but a secret you must know of this young child." Yoda said. "What's wrong with him?" Qui-Gon asked. "Him? Obi-wan is not a him, but rather a her." Mace told his long time friend. " But Mace, Obi-wan is clearly a boy." Qui-Gon said. "You must listen. When we got Obi-wan her mother begged us to make her appear as a boy till her father is dead. Obi-wan's father is a dark jedi. He will search throughout his life until he finds his little girl. He could see bits of the future and knew what his little girl would look like when she grew up, but the future has changed and became blind to the sight before Obi-wan came here. He still remembers the image and seeks her out, so Obi-wan must remain a boy until he is dead. You must help her. Besides us, only a select few healers know. She'll be going through puberty soon and we'll have to help her hide it." Mace explained. "What if it gets out?"
