I ran through the forest, the fastest I have ever ran before. I heard one of the men load and cock his shot gun, and others yelling orders. My whole life was just a race. A race I would have to win or I would die. I was two slow in this form. DAMN IT! Why does it always have to be this way? I find a quiet place to settle in, than what! Someone always finds out. I can't keep this secret, my secret. It always gets out. And it might always will.
Chapter 1
May name is Toboe Shimwada; I'm a 14 year old boy with brown hair and yellow brown eyes. I live in Forest, Virginia. I'm alone. My parents died when I was little. I never knew or even met my grandparents for that matter. I had no siblings. I was always alone. And it will most likely remain this way.
I stood outside the broken and torn down trailer and breath in a deep breath of the rainy musk
"Toboe!" a man called from a rusty red car.
"Coming! I just gotta go get my bag!"
"Ok then hurry up!"
I ran inside and grabbed my bag. Crap! I forgot to zip up my bag aging after I studying last night.
"Toboe!"
Ugh. I grabbed all my school items and took off running outside. The rain had started to pour again, which caused my books to drown and warp.
"Looks like you've got your hands full there."
"Ha yea, the zipper broke on my bag." I sat there knowing that the bag didn't break, it was just the fact that I had forgot to zip it up. It was too stupid to amend. I throw all my items into the "broken" bag and place it next to my feet.
The air in the car was hot and relaxing. It warmed me from the coldness that fell from the sky. The drive wasn't that long. Before realized, I was getting yelled at to get out of the truck or I'd be late for school. I throw myself out of the truck and take off toward the school entrance.
Chapter 2
"You're late."
"Yea, sorry about that. My other bag broke and…."
"No need to tell me what happened, we haven't got all day."
"Ok."
I walked quickly to the back of the class. I took out my math book and a notebook. The teacher began with the daily activity.
"Hey Toboe…" my friend Jake whispered softly to me.
"What?"
"Look at the new kid."
I drew my gaze from my notes to the tall male that stood at the front of the class. He was talking quietly to the teacher.
"Well, class this is Kiba… Uhh, what did you say your last name was?"
"I don't have one."
He made no eye contact with anyone.
"Well you can go sit over there."
"K."
He walked toward the back of the class. He sat in the back right of the class. Close but still far away from me, that I couldn't whisper to him without anyone noticing. I looked at Kiba carefully. He was different. He was like me! I have to talk to him after class.
The rest of class went by slowly. I couldn't concentrate on any of the work the teacher had assigned on the board. The end of class finally came.
"Kiba! Wait!"
He came to a Holt in the middle of the hallway. He didn't look very happy to do so.
"What do you want?"
"You're a wolf, I haven't seen..."
"SHUT UP!"
"Kiba?"
"Do you want everyone to hear us?"
"No, but."
"If you want to talk about this, meet me after school. At the edge of the forest. Don't tell anyone."
"Ok."
Chapter 3
I walked out of the back of the school to where the forest begon.
Kiba was standing there, but he had someone with him. I placed my items in my locker. I don't need it tonight I had finished all my work in class, and there's no test coming up soon. I ran up to Kiba and this new person.
"Kiba, who's this?"
"I'm Hige, a wolf like you." He held his hand to the back of his head and smiled.
