"Hey, Author, why'd you change your pen name?" Mr. L asked as I sat on a bean bag chair in my room.

"I told you, L, call me Felix, not 'Author'." I murmured, not looking up from my computer screen. "Hey, why are you here, anyway?"

"'Cause you put me here."

I rolled my eyes. That was L's answer for everything whenever I asked him something.

"But, why'd you change it?"

"Because I like cats."

"Why don't I believe you?"

"Because you're a derp."

I smirked as I saw L pout over the top of my laptop screen. "What's with the new haircut, too?"

I reached up to feel my short black hair and the blue streak my hairdresser put in. "It's always been short."

"Yeah, but it hasn't always been black and blue."

"Look, I got obsessed over my blue-black Magic the Gathering deck. Now, go, I'm trying to write."

I knew L didn't believe me. It was true, I was obsessed with my kick-ass blue-black Magic deck, but it wasn't my real reason. I actually didn't have one, I just wanted to shake things up, but since L wouldn't buy that, I had to make up something. As it used to be brown, I dyed it black, then got the haircut.

"I still don't buy the whole 'I like cats' thing for your name."

I sighed. "Fine. I had this drama assignment at school, so I had to dress up as a cat. My friend was all like 'You look like Felix the Cat LOL' so now everybody calls me that."

"Matt?"

"How'd you guess?"

"That sounds like a Matt thing to say."

"True that."
