I got this off of a Dove commercial my teacher showed me. It really touched me so I put Yumi and Ulrich into it. Enjoy.
To girls everywhere. May you always feel beautiful.
Her squinty Asian eyes.
Her black hair. Black, not blonde like everyone else's.
Her crooked nose.
Her invisible cheekbones.
Her short hair cut.
Which again lead to the ugly black hair.
Yumi was in her bedroom, crying like there was no tomorrow.
"I hate me! She whispered though sobs, yanking a hairbrush through her tangled mess of hair. Around her lied a curing iron, a crimper, some bows, ribbon, and headbands. Everything she tried made her hair look terrible. Everything about her must be terrible.
In the mean time, her date was outside waiting for her.
"Yumi!" Ulrich called, the sun starting to set, seeing her bedroom lights on. "Yumi! Come out, please!" He begged, wondering what was wrong with his best friend and girlfriend.
Her thighs. So big, so imperfect.
Her stomach. She was gaining weight and she was sure it was showing.
Her scrawny arms didn't match with her big thighs.
Her invisible chest.
Her huge hands.
Her small feet.
Sprawled across the room lied clothes. Every color that ranged in black and gray was everywhere. The bed, the floor, the dresser. Heck, the lamp even. And none of them looked good on her. Why couldn't she buy clothes that looked good on her?! What was her problem?
"Yumi!" Ulrich called, disappointment and sadness swept through him. Why wasn't she coming out?
He had been throwing pebbles every few minuets now at her window. Waiting for her to come out. To have fun and forget everything.
She gave a small scream of impatience before throwing herself onto her bed, crying about her appearance. Everything was wrong with her, from head to toe. Everything wasn't good and perfect like every girl around her.
Ulrich sighed. It was night time now. He had slumped against a tree outside her house, still waiting, and he would always wait for her.
She could think of eleven things wrong with her. He couldn't think of one.
