A girl with lavender colored eyes, raven black hair that reached her shoulders, and pale skin walked slowly towards the train platform 9 and 3/4ths. She wore a black pea coat, a purple scarf, black pants, and black boots with a slight heel. She pulled along a large black sleek letter trunk filled with all of her things. It looked heavy but she pulled it with ease. She was heading to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. "Sigh... I wish I did not have to attend Hogwarts this year Nossy." She seemingly addressed to herself. Around her neck sat a small black snake that slowly began to weave itself into her hair. Her poisonous companion Nossy, or Nosferatu, just hissed at her in response.

With a small frown she slowly started making her way towards the train. People crowded the area and she struggled to get to an entrance. Dozens of students flooded the area and she watched as the smaller students fought to get their belongings aboard. She noticed a flash of silver hair and quickly entered the train. She ended up being one of the last ones to get on.

As she rushed down the narrow hallway she began to look for a compartment of her own but unfortunately there was none available. Other students bumped into her and she noticed how crazy some of the kids were acting.

She passed one of the sitting sections where a boy with red curly hair and a thin build sat. He seemed to radiate a sense of entitlement and pride. She considered sitting with him until he made eye contact and turned his nose up to her. 'That kind of attitude isn't worth sitting next to' she thought and she continued on.

The only compartment left contained a sleeping man who wore very worn out clothes. With a heavy sigh she put her things on the overhead rack and sat down. "Well Nossy this is the best we've got." The black snake just wrapped itself around her neck and fell asleep. As she listened to the noisy family members yell goodbye to their children she couldn't help but think of her own father. A small part of her missed him and his quiet company. He wasn't a very happy man and they often didn't see eye to eye but she knew that he loved her and she in return did the same.

Just then she heard a group of kids open the door to her compartment. "Oh! Hello," said the girl with curly brown hair, "everywhere else is full, do you mind if we sit here?" The dark haired girl shook her head and looked to the other two boys standing behind the other girl. The one boy who looked to be in a constant state of confusion had red hair that looked slightly unkempt and was holding an old looking rat that had seen better days. She felt Nossy move with excitement as snake noticed the rat. The other had dark hair and glasses while sporting a lighting bolt-shaped scar. He seemed to be looking at her thoughtfully while holding his luggage.

"My name is Hermione Granger, this is Ronald Weasley and that is Harry... Harry Potter." Said the girl pointing at the redhead first and then to the boy with the glasses. The dark haired girl stared at them for a moment and then quietly introduced herself. "My name is Rosemary... Rosemary Alucard. It's a pleasure to meet you." Her slight accent was noticed but not addressed by the others. The boy named Ron smiled at her. "Who do you think that is?" Nodding his head towards the sleeping man beside her. Before she could reply that she didn't know Hermione jumped in saying "professor R.J. Lupin." "You know everything!" exclaimed Ron "how is it she knows everything!"

As the trio began to debate how Hermione knew such things and Harry telling them about some murderer who escaped from a prison called Azkaban, Rosemary just stared out the window and watched the rain. Nossy began to slither into her jacket sleeves to seek warmth. 'Poor thing hates the cold...' She thought. Suddenly the train started jerked to a stop. "Why are we stopping?" Said Hermione, "we can't be there yet."

Ron started to panic and Harry was trying to be rational about the whole situation but suddenly the lights went off and Ron started to whimper with fright. Rosemary calmly looked out the window curiously to see what was going on. She noticed they had stopped on a bridge that overlooked a river. Looking back at everyone else in the compartment she noticed the man known, as R.J. Lupin was still asleep. "There's something out there." Ron said worriedly. "I think something's coming aboard!"

Suddenly the glass of the window started to freeze over and everyone excluding Rosemary could see their breath. The train lurched forward again and everyone looked towards the door of the compartment. The air felt like it dropped twenty degrees and even Rosemary felt a twinge of concern. Outside was a skeleton like creature whose face was covered by a cloth and slowly crept into their compartment. The frightened trio and Rosemary watched as it floated inside. It seemed to gravitate towards Harry and before it got too close to him the sleeping man jumped up with his wand ready and seemingly banished the creature with a white mist-like light. Harry seemed dazed and then suddenly passed out.

A few moments later after Hermione repeatedly called Harry's name did he slowly awake and moved to sit up. The sleeping man offered the boy some chocolate claiming it would help. "What was that thing?" "It was a dementor, one of the guards of Azkaban" Lupin said, "It's gone now. It was searching the train for Sirius Black. If you'll excuse me I need to have a little word with the driver." The unkempt man soon up and went to the door of the compartment where he turned around too look at Harry "eat you'll feel better." He started to turn to leave when he caught Rosemary's quiet gaze. They stared at one another for a moment, her gaze reserved and uninterested while his was curious and concerned. He suddenly looked away and left.

Rosemary silently questioned the professor's concerned look when suddenly she noticed a dark energy approach the compartment. The door slammed open, interrupting the trio's conversation, and a man with silver hair screamed out," Mistress Alucard! Are you alright?! I noticed that evil creature looming in the train! Had you not left me at the station I could've protected you!" He wore a deep purple long sleeve button up, a black vest with a black tie, and black slacks. He knelt to the ground holding both of Rosemary's hands and attempt to pull her closer to him, but she would not budge. "Are you injured? Do I need to slaughter someone?!"

She looked over to her companion whose normally unkempt silver hair was slicked back wet with the rain, she could see the scars that ran over his left eye, and his clothes were drenched. His yellow eyes looked up at her worriedly. He looked like he had been running a long distance in the rain and all she could do was laugh to herself. "Alexander...calm down. I am fine; you are scaring the children, and most importantly getting me wet. Leave us."

The man known as Alexander looked up at her dejectedly and sniffled "Yes, my mistress." He bowed and quickly left. The trio looked at her confused at the random exchanged between her and her servant. "He is my butler..."

"Aren't butlers not allowed at Hogwarts?" Asked Hermione.

"Alexander is... an exception to the rules but he won't be attending school to serve me."

The boys seemed to accept this explanation but Hermione's face told her that she didn't quite accept the explanation she offered. Rosemary felt as though the room had become too cramped "Please excuse me." She got up and left the compartment.

Walking towards the end of the train she noticed a door that led to caboose balcony.

Opening the door she decided to stand out in the rain she allowed Nossy to slither her way back to Rosemary's trunk where it was warm. Feeling the rain fall on her face she contemplated whether or not this idea was folly. Suddenly the door behind her opened and a young boy around her age appeared. He looked eerily like Alexander, but last she checked he was in his mid 20's. "Mistress! What do you think?" Alexander asked looking at her smugly.

"Alexander...what have you done?" A look of confusion crossed her face as she stared at her now visibly younger servant.

(Flashback/Alexander's P.o.v.)

His Mistress had abandoned him yet again. He was at the train station about to help her with her bags when suddenly an owl dropped off a package to him and flew off. When he looked back up she was gone. Although panicked at the loss of his master his curiosity got the better of him. Opening up the package he noticed a small ring and a sealed letter inside. The ring was silver with a dark red stone. It was very simple looking but it carried a strong magical feel to it. Opening the sealed letter he noticed it was from Albus Dumbledore. It read:

Dear Alexander,

I am overjoyed that Miss Alucard will be joining us at Hogwarts this year and I understand why you must go with her. That being said I believe it to be in the best interest of the students and faculty that you blend in with the crowd. For this reason I have made you a ring that will allow you to remain unnoticed by the students at Hogwarts. Be sure to take good care of it and please behave yourself, for Rosemary's sake.

Sincerely,

Albus Dumbledore

Alexander slipped on the ring and noticed himself getting smaller and thinner by the second. Scrambling to find the nearest bathroom he looked in the mirror and saw his younger looking self reflected back at him. His clothes hung off him in a baggy fashion and his shoes were 4 sizes too big. He gently touched the side of his face. The scars that sat over his left eye had disappeared. "Oh my", he said, "I wonder how the mistress will react to this. Speaking of the Mistress where is she!? " He began to panic realizing she was probably on the train by now that had left without him. Grabbing his stuff he began running after the train.

(End flashback/Rosemary's p.o.v)

Once Alexander explained to Rosemary why he suddenly looked like an 11 year-old boy, they noticed that the train had stopped and the students were starting leave. "Mistress our Hogwarts uniforms!" Alexander yelled out. They both quickly went to change into their uniforms and got off the train. Alexander visibly struggled to drag along both his and his mistress's luggage while she observed the huge castle in the distance. For a moment she couldn't help but think of home and how much she missed the familiarity of it. She hadn't been home in quite some time.

"Alexander" she called, "Do you think this venture will be worth it?" "I honestly don't know Mistress." He replied to her thoughtfully as the rain continued to fall.

After a few moments of musing to herself the carriages pulled by horse-like creatures whose fleshless skin clung to their skeleton approached them. Their heads looked reptilian and on their back were large leathery wings. Their job was to take everyone up the rest of the way to Hogwarts. So the two of them got in and went on their way.
