AN: Long story short, I wrote an extra scene to JC that took place after the fight in 4.3. The vast majority of it was absolutely awful, but I don't think this sonnet is too bad. The entire thing was written in iambic pentameter, and basically involved the two sharing a tent before the battle. If I ever get around to editing the monster, I might post it. R&R, por favor.
Disclaimer: As if.
Chorus:
And thus the two good friends embrac'd the night
'Fore sleep and then after they did confess
Cassius could not forgive himself the fight
For Brutus there was no cause for distress
Said Brutus, "This night could well be our last,
Dear Cassius, I have never loved you more.
'Tis shameful how the hours fly by so fast
Soon each of us must face our deaths in war."
Cassius replied, "Dear friend, let us not fret.
The night is young and here we are, in love.
I know the war is far from over yet,
But lovely Venus watches from above
"Brutus, relax and settle in my arms
The gods and fate protect us from these harms."
