Lawrence glanced down at the watch he wore on his right wrist and shuddered. It was almost time. He glanced around his newly purchased apartment and exhaled, feeling a slight pressure on his chest. Was it just nerves, or something else? It had only been a few days since Lawrence had seen him, but it felt like a lifetime. Lawrence didn't know why the boy had such a powerful effect on him, but he did. Everything before their first encounter seemed a blur. It had only been since Adam entered his life, that he truly understood what devotion was. Up above him, a clock chimed, marking the arrival time for his visitor. 'Late, as usual,' Lawrence smirked to himself.

Behind him, a light knocking sound began and Lawrence turned his eyes on the front door, the door that would open and reveal the most important thing in his life. Drawing out each step to the entrance, Lawrence's hand finally connected with the knob and he wretched it open. Lawrence couldn't believe his eyes. There, standing in the door frame with hands in his pockets, obviously trying (and failing) too look collected, was Lawrence's dream come true. There was Adam.

All the two could do was stare at each other, savoring the moment. They were each other's life now, and they both knew it. Adam reached over and wiped a stray lock of blonde hair away from Lawrence's crystal eyes and smiled nervously. Lawrence just stepped aside and motioned for the boy to come it, not mentioning that the just Adam's mere touch had made his heart jump. Adam entered the apartment and blinked nervously, never letting his feet stop. Briskly catching up, Lawrence guided Adam into the parlor on his left by his elbow. As they reached the room, both men sat down on the couch, properly greeting each other with a light embrace. Neither ever wanted to part from each other's hold again.

Lawrence looked up at Adam as their arms let go, a pleading look gleaming in his eye. It had been nearly two years since the whole jigsaw ordeal, and still neither of the two men felt any less connected. As they sat there, just staring at each other, a fixation between them held the two together, blocking out the city lights from the open window, the soft music from the radio, and the people who told them their love was wrong. Blocking out the world. When they were together, it felt like everything was alright, and always would be.

Slowly, Adam cupped Lawrence's chin in his hand and leaned in, Lawrence mimicking his movement. Looking deep into each other's eyes, they just held one another. Lawrence ran his warm palm down Adam's temple and Adam sighed in recognition, smiling at Lawrence's touch. Placing his hand at the base of Adam's neck, he drew him closer until their lips met in a firm, yet soft kiss. A kiss filled with passion. 'So this is love?' Adam couldn't help thinking.

Breaking off suddenly, Adam blushed, his young heart overwhelmed by the sensations he was feeling. Lawrence nodded, and continued to hold Adam in his arms, stroking his hair. With every touch, Adam was feeling more and more relaxed. More vulnerable. Slowly lowering his head down unto Lawrence's chest, Adam leaned against him, hoping that in someway, Lawrence knew how he felt. That he knew how much he needed him. As Adam heard the steady rhythm of Lawrence's heart beat, he closed his eyes. For the first time in his whole life, he felt safe. Just loud enough for Adam to hear, Lawrence mumbled the first words that the two had spoken to each other that evening. The words that would change Adam's life forever:

"I love you…"
