Daniel, Jack

As he rose from the depths of a contented sleep, he was aware of a buzzing. A small part of him realized the annoyance was the alarm, and he reached over and smacked it, only to draw back in confusion when his hand hit something sticky as well. Blearily, he looked at the red, heart-shaped thing now stuck to his palm. His other hand fumbled for his glasses, and he slipped them on, squinting to force his eyes to focus. Scrawled across the red heart-shaped doily was the word "kitchen" in silver Sharpie. He blinked at it for a moment, the word taking its time to penetrate the thick fog of sleep.

He managed to restick the doily to the alarm, tug on a robe--he wasn't sure whose--and stumble into the kitchen. His eyes closed immediately as he inhaled the scent of brewing coffee, and when he opened them it was to see a half-dressed Jack with a goofy, fond smile on his face. The table was covered with food: bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes and mini-waffles, and in the center, an open tin of chocolates, of which two or three were missing.

"Jack?"

"Happy Valentine's Day, Daniel."
