I know I know... 'Lights Can Flicker' hasn't had an update for awhile, and that simply because we don't know where we are taking it. But for now, enjoy our newest top of the line depression fuel. I can't tell if it's just me being in character but I couldn't stop crying, it feels so good. Enjoy! I sure as hell did!
Adam got out of the passenger seat of the truck, looking down at his bloodied sword. He did not have anything to clean it with, and he shakily started setting it back into the sheath, a stressed look on his face, and his shoulders hanging low as he went back into the huge campsite; one of the White Fangs bigger ones. Meanwhile, Blake was in their shared tent, pacing around. She had been worried about Adam and even more worried about his...violent tendencies, she managed to calm herself down enough to sit down on their bed and breathe.
"It'll be fine...he's learned...he's changed..."
Adam had reached the twos shared tent, stopping before walking in, turning around and pacing around himself. God, why does she have to know?! Is being born a Faunus not to much of a punishment in this world?! It's only going to be so long before she finds out how it went, he felt sick, like his stomach was upset. Blake's ears raised a little as she heard the crunching leaves, assuming Adam had returned, her anxiety raised as she stood, she tried to sit but she couldn't stay still anymore, hoping that he hadn't done anything too...bloody. Adam had his back turned to the tent, falling to his knees and starting to sob, clawing his hands at his face, thoughts flashing through his head about Blake and his own self, his mouth in a devastated form. Blake rushed outside after hearing the sounds pick up, and she saw Adam on the ground. She had immediately wrapped her arms around him, squeezing against him.
"Come inside and we can talk this through...please..." She Said.
He turned towards her and practically lunged himself into her, still sobbing into her shoulder and shaking his head, his heart falling into a million pieces. Blake began to rub his back as she felt her own eyes fill with tears, she glanced at his sheath and saw the drops of blood, but she couldn't care now...all she cared about was helping her Adam.
"It's ok...it's ok...I'm here..." She said, trying her best to comfort him.
Blake began to play with his hair as she looked into his eyes with a calm gaze, she sighed as she wiped his tears.
"Adam...be honest ok? Did you do it out of self defense...?"
He shook his head shamefully, still sobbing all the while, his own tears staining the ground.
"N-o-ooo... Nn-o-o-o-oo." He replied, his cries separating his speech.
He kept apologizing again and again, his tears separating his words too, the 'Im Sorry' phrase couldn't sound more distressed. Blake began to purr as she held his head close to her chest, rubbing his back in a slow rhythm, the slight hum taking away some of his stress.
"I can tell you regret it...and while what you did is...very wrong...but I can tell you regret what you did and that's growth Adam...I'm still very...very upset but you're growing...and I..."
Blake paused for almost a minute, choking on her words as she began to cry too.
"I forgive you..."
Adams breaths quickened as his cries sped up, shaking his head, trying to deny himself.
"B-ut I-m not go-ing to l-ea-r-r-rn..."
Adam kept repeating it, wailing into her arms.
Blake began to rock him slowly as she shushed him, she held him tightly as she wiped her tears quickly.
"Yes you are...I can help you...do you want this? To feel like this after every mission...?" She asked, trying to get him to calm down.
"I-I Don-t want you to l-leave-e... pleaseee..."
He begged her, gripping onto the back of her shirt, desperately flailing around.
"I promise I won't ever leave you Adam...i'd never dream of it."
As she spoke Blake held onto Adam, wrapping her legs around his waist as she traced little love notes in his back, holding him tightly as the two continued to cry. Adam was still taking short breaths as he tried to compose himself, failing miserably, sniffling.
"Y-You Promise?" He Asked, shaking uncontrollably in her arms.
Blake looked Adam in the eyes as she gave him a warm smile, she cupped his cheek as she leaned in for a short kiss to express her feelings
"I promise Adam..."
He kissed her back, his tears running from his face to hers as the two faces connected, Adam still crying his eyes out and lightly sobbing. Blake began to purr loudly as she leaned against him, closing her eyes, as she softly spoke to him, putting the two at ease. They would later fall asleep in each other's arms that night.
