Ooh, school assignments are a pain in the ass sometimes. Kyoya Hibari was no exception to this arse pain. To write a report on any famous dead writer. Which means researching creepy old Englishmen who had nothing better to do with themselves. The boy traveled towards the area known as the public library, where most students dread to go because it means long hours of worthless research, when you only find a paragraph worth of stuff that actually means something to you.
He walked into the entrance finding a scarce amount of people, and a librarian working behind the counter. The man seemed to be bored and looking through a book that was filled with different philosophical sayings by Confucius. Glasses, a blonde, nothing special about this guy. Hibari walked up towards the counter before deciding if he should ask for help or not. He really didn't know what he was doing, and really didn't care. While pondering, Hibari heard a voice ask up, "Hmm? What's this I have here?" Questioning Hibari's presence. He looked up, quickly thinking of something to say.
"I wish to research a writer."
The librarian smiled, "Any in particular?"
"No."
"Ah, well..." The man walked out from behind his counter towards a nearby bookshelf, pulling out books and setting them on the table.
"How about John Milton? Who wrote the epic, Paradise Lost...?" he continued pulling out more books, "Langston Hughes, 'What happens to a dream deferred'," Hibari sat down watching this man throwing books towards him, "Elizabeth Barrett Browning, 'How do I love thee, let me count the ways', Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allen P—" he was cut off my coughing. The boy got up from his seat and was telling him he had enough and just needed a writer already. Kyoya did not want to spend more than enough time in this building. At least, with him.
The librarian smirked and pulled out one last book, "Tempt not a desperate man!", a pause, "How about my personal favorite, William Shakespeare. Hibari just looked at him with annoyance. "For you and I are past our dancing days," he continued to quote but found himself interrupted by the student once more.
"I don't wish to put up with this, just check out some books so I can get this over with.", an annoyed sigh.
The man smiled and walked around the boy, books in hand, "The lady doth protests too much, methinks."
Kyoya glared enough to tell the man, well, it was enough. Oh but this librarian seemed to be having too much fun. He leaned in and whispered in the other's ear, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.." Hibari was just so close to knocking this librarian upside his head. But he knows thats probably just what he wants him to do.
The man finally walks towards the check out counter with a stack of books in his hands. He's laughing as he asks Kyoya for his card, which is thrown at the man at a dangerous angle. He scans it in anyways and swipes the bar code of the books through the scanner. The stack of books is pushed towards the boy with his card sitting on the top. The man is still smiling.
Kyoya picks up the stack and starts to walk out. He stops for a second, while his back is still facing the man he speaks, "I think you were only so persistent because you knew Shakespeare yourself." he continues on his way out.
The man just laughs as his glasses slides down the bridge of his nose, leaving his mismatched eyes unprotected.
"Good Night, Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow."
