Chapter 1
"Mira Darling!" I heard mother calling from the house. I turned to look back at her my long auburn hair whipping in the ocean scented wind.
"Yes mother?" I called back.
"It's almost time for you to leave." She replied. I sighed and looked back over the cliff that plunged into the ocean. I closed my eyes feeling the sun beat down on my bare shoulders breathing in my last remnants of home. I gathered my dark green skirts in my hands showing my bare feet. I walk back to the small cottage my mother, sister and I share. I was leaving for Paris to help support my mother and sister. Father just recently passed and we could barely pay rent. I walk into the room my sister, Fleur, and I shared. Her pale blond hair was sticking to her bone white skin that jutted out.
"Mira" she softly called to me, "Be safe, for me". A tear slowly dribbled down my face as I nod.
"Mirabelle come, you're about to miss the boat." Mother said. I stand up and gently kiss Fleur's forehead say whisper my goodbyes. I take my bags and go to the docks down the road. I take one last look at my small town before I get on the boat that will change my life. Of course, I didn't know what to expect it to change so dramatically in a small time.
