Your face is shocked, hurt and scared,
As you see me go down
I reach out to you, and you run, to hold me in your arms,
And feel my life slowly slip away.
"Don't die..."
You choke back a sob,
And I try to touch you,
To say all I need to, before I go,
But it's easier said than done.
"Don't die..."
To die in your arms is a dream come true,
I never thought, never, in my wildest dreams,
That I'd die this way,
Safe in your arms.
"Please don't die..."
I try to speak again, but blood comes out instead.
As your face swims in and out of focus,
I touch your hand and you grab it, and press in to your cheek;
A slim white hand against brown.
"You can't die..."
I feel my life slipping away,
And I know I have not much time.
And I know you'll never let go.
I will die safe in your strong arms.
"No...you must live...don't die..."
All I have to say, must be said right now,
Or it will be too late...
"Why does love hurt so much, Heero?"
"Don't die...love you...Duo..."
As I fade away, you howl with despair,
And you curse yourself for not saying it sooner.
And then I notice it's starting to rain,
And I know, by the next raindrop I'll be gone.
