This is my first drabble, so I'm not too confident that I've stayed true to all the rules. Let me know if I haven't. Anyway, this takes place during POTC: At World's End, after Jack's death by the Kraken. This was just a little fluff that I thought would've been amusing, given the situation in the story. I'm fairly certain that it's 100 words (minus the title). As always, review! I'd love to know what you think! It really helps me improve. Enjoy!
Jack Sparrow stood on the Pearl, that sat resting in a pool of granules. Jack hadn't the slightest idea how he arrived. He remembered the Kraken's foul breath. How had he survived? "Either I'm drunk…or I'm in Jones's Locker."
Denying eternal damnation, he mumbled, "Must've been a lot of rum." He examined his ship. "If I really am in the Locker…there must be unlimited rum!" He pronounced, gleefully.
He skipped towards his lounge and rummaged through cabinets, only to find an empty cupboard. "Bugger! Jones must've stolen everything!" Instead, lay a small note.
Dead men tell no tales.
Davy Jones
Author's note: The Pirates of the Caribbean tetralogy was, as most of you know, based on the original Walt Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ride. The phrase 'dead men tell no tales' was, most likely, used to warn other pirates. Men who are dead therefore cannot tell lies or, more commonly, secrets about other pirates' dirty deeds. I don't recall how often this expression was used in the films, or if it was even used at all, but the thing I remember most about the attraction was Davy Jones's eerie voice as the motto echoed through the caves.
