You Caused the Sky to Cry Blood
By: Tsukasa-Kun
A/N: I do not own Samurai X or Rurouni Kenshin. Looks at Kenshin and
melts into a puddle I originally wrote a poem with the same title when I
was in New York City, but being the baka ningen that I am, I lost the
original (and only) copy, and thus I am recreating it, though it doesn't
have the same verses in it. So, here goes!!
Standing here
All alone
Nothing but the rain and my tears
Setting a sort of chill to my aching bones.
What am I doing?
Besides looking at this dead figure before me
The lust for blood in my veins is brewing
But it is clouding my eyes from what I want to see.
They say it is all for fun
That this is something I should pursue.
In all but time, it proved to be, as it is done
A fool's dream is for no one but a fool.
I touched the left side of my face
Touched that tender spot
Blood streams down into what seems to be space
I touched it so I wouldn't be caught
But then, I saw her,
Pale skinned, but oh, so fair.
A sort of calmness seemed to occur
Her eerie calm almost too much to bear.
I watched as blood splattered all over her clothes
Blood shed from the person on the ground curled in a ball
She looked at me with a gaze I could not loathe
As she said "You caused the sky to cry blood."
I near lost it, but then she collapsed
I picked her up, quicker than a fox
Time seemed to slowly lapse
As I struggled to find my way out of this box
I took care of her when she was sick
And she, in turn, was there for me
But my wounds was too much for her to lick
Too much for her to see.
She died today, my beloved Tomoe,
My sweet white plum.
She did all she could do
To protect me from fatal harm.
I touched my cross-shaped scar,
Touching the one received, so small
I walk in the streets alone or in a bar
As I hear her say "You caused the sky to cry blood."
