Hello there! Oh boy, here we go...my very first time for writing Xros! XD And with nothing but dialogue, no less. So here's hoping that I get everyone IC here. This takes place early on, a little bit after Nene decides to go with Kiriha for awhile. And so here's my first fic for The Valentine's Days/White Day Fic Exchange, dedicated to Makoto Kurou! This fic is also for the 28 Days Challenge, Monthly Restrict Challenge 16 (avoid using the words "he" or "she"), and the Mega Prompts Challenge (where the quote is from :P), all from the Digimon Fanfiction Challenge forums.

"Hardly. that boy's far too naïve. I'd rather have a partner like you Nene, someone who's knows what they're doing."
"I'm flattered. But you're lying."
"How would you know if I was?"
"I have my ways. That's all you need to know. And I know for a fact that you want Taiki."
"What are you, a yaoi fan girl? When I said that I wanted him, I mean I wanted him on my team. Lose that sly look."
"But I thought you said that you didn't like him."
"I'm not looking for friends. I'm looking for allies to recruit. That boy may be naïve and obnoxiously cheerful, but that boy's a good tactician and has a way of gathering others to him."
"Like you?"
"Taiki doesn't control me. I'm going to control him, down to his last breath."
"Oh my."
"Stop twisting my words."
"Then stop making them so easy to twist."
"Did you choose me just so you could annoy me? I'm sure you could have far more fun with Taiki and his lackeys, if that's all you want."
"No, I chose you because you are strong and reliable. Taiki's castle of cards will flutter apart soon enough, pretty as it is. People like him don't survive in the Digital World for long."

"I don't want to see him fall either. Or his friends. It would be such a waste."
"…Is that all it would be to you? Just a waste?"
"They mean something else to you then?"

"What will you do with all these fragmented worlds, once you've gathered all the Code Crowns? Will you remake everything? Become a tyrant?"
"I will do with it what I feel like."
"Hope you're not in a bad mood when that happens."

"Where did you get that idea?"
"Observation."
"Of what?"
"Of what you don't say."

"It's a shame you can't show it better, but I know that's not the best idea in the Digital World."
"It's not a good idea in any world."
"So you admit it."
"I admit that showing weakness is a bad policy anywhere."
"So you see it as weakness…how sad. Yet, I can't disagree with you."
"So we finally agree on something."

"Anything else?"
"No…I just hope…compassion is weakness during war, but…don't lose your heart. Like I have."

"I'm going to scout the next world. I'll meet you back here before dusk."
"Go on then."

"Like I would let myself sink that low. Like I would let those other kids be torn apart in this madness. It's all fun and games until you and your friends die…I've lost enough people in my life. I'm not going to stand by and watch more die. Not someone like…Why do I care? I can't save idiots from themselves. If that boy wants to parade into war with a stupid smile on his face, then Taiki can merrily march his way to death."

LOL, TaikiKihira just amuses me to no end :P. And Kiriha and Nene just deserve each other, pairing or otherwise. But that's, literally, a another story for another time :)
