Spencer's POV
I am shaken awake and I almost made a sound—luckily I didn't once I see the look on my brother—well foster brother—John's face. I look at my watch and find that it is two in the morning. It didn't take me long to piece together the situation.
Mark is home.
Getting home around this time isn't unusual—it's unusual if he comes home earlier than this. But the thing was, when he did get home, things were not usually pretty.
"How many?" I asked John and he held up three fingers. I sighed—already and he was probably already in the stage where he would start screaming and beating us for no reason. "Come on, get in." I said and he gets into the bed with me.
We do this sometimes—whenever John is really scared. This time he seems really scared even if Mark has only had three drinks—usually he has had five drinks by the time John has woke me, but I guess if he was waking me he was really scared and I wasn't going to tell him to go back to bed like all the other kids here would do.
I then almost scream as someone jumps on me—waking me up from my dream. I catch my breath as my foster brother, Jacob, laughs. He then runs away and I lay back on bed and stare at the ceiling. I want to go back to sleep—but it won't be the same.
It's like Jacob knows when I am having one of those dreams—one that has John in it—so he likes to end it. I sigh and go up to take a shower and I just can't help but think about John again. It's been a few years since I had seen him and I miss him.
I haven't seen him since that night and I wish I knew what happened to him.
The night he came in to my room at two—that was the last time. I woke up and not only was John gone, but all his stuff. I asked, but the only answer I got was to shut up and then a few punches in the face; I guess no one will tell me what happened.
He could have been placed into another home, adopted—but that is not likely—or maybe Mark got so drunk that he killed him.
I get out of the shower and turn the radio on and I smile as one of my favorite songs by Rachel Berry comes on the radio. I stand there and listen for a few seconds and comb my hair—I accident drop my towel on the floor and when I go to pick it up is when Jacob comes in to bother me.
"Out!" I yell and cover—myself as quickly as I could and he shuts the door.
"Hurry up!" He yells and I hear him quickly go away from the door. I sighed—there was really nothing I could do about that boy. I would have to talk to Mark—the foster father—but that wouldn't end well for me. And it doesn't really matter anymore as I am not going to be taking it anymore.
I get dress and once I grab my bag to head out for my dad—I had a few things I had to do. I hear Mark call for me and stop. Great, just what I need.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" He asked me as he took a sip of the beer bottle in his hand. I roll my eyes—it's like he never stops drinking. Of course, it's in his blood, so how can he stop?
"Out." I said. He then hit me across the face.
"Don't speak to me like that!" He yells.
"You won't have to worry about me much longer." I mumble.
"What the hell did you just say?!" He questions—in a way its threatening. If it was towards him, like an insult and I tried to lie about it, I would expect some sort of beating.
"I'm turning sixteen. I'm getting out of here." I said and turned around to walk out, but he grabs my arm and yanks me back. "Let go of me!" I yell and run out of there. Thank god I could avoid whatever he was ready to do to me. I don't need that today—I have things to do.
I take the bus downtown and then walk about a block until I get to where I needed to be: Trouty Mouth. It's the best bar in town. I don't know what to exactly do at the moment since I can't knock or just go in seeing as that I am not even technically sixteen yet.
Eventually some goes by the door to probably open the place and they see me and this blonde guy answers the door—wow he has some big lips.
"Hi, can I help you?" He asks me.
"Yeah. I'm looking for Sam Evans." I said and he grinned, but it faded as he looked inside—I could see another guy in there. I guess they lived together or something.
"That would be me." The blonde guy in front of me said—oh wow. So he's—wow. I guess I know where I got one thing. "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Can you sign this?" I asked.
"I don't know if I want to buy anything right now—" He starts to say. Great, he thinks I'm like an out of uniform boy scout.
"No—" I say—I guess I probably should tell him who I am.
"Who are you?" He then asks.
"I'm your son." I tell him.
So Sam just found out he has a son. Rachel comes into the story next chapter. We got a small glimpse into Spencer's life. Spencer is played by Riley Bria. (Edit link on profile)
