Prologue

Theresa smiled as she walked into the stable by her house, it was spring break and she had asked Jay if she could go home for a few days, since she had been practicing her powers quite a bit lately and was exhausted, the fact that Cronus hadn't attacked in a few weeks was a big plus in convincing him as well. Theresa felt happy as she walked deeper into the stable and came across Beauty, her horse, a gorgeous horse as well she was a chestnut brown colour and the most tame horse that Theresa had ever met, well at least with her, one time her best friend, Krista, had tried to ride her and Beauty threw her off, luckily Krista didn't get hurt.

"Hey Beauty." Theresa whispered so that she wouldn't scare her, although Beauty was a good horse she did spook easily, upon hearing Theresa's voice Beauty turned around and neighed, Theresa smiled reaching into her pocket and taking out a sugar cube, as she walked closer to Beauty Theresa held out her hand, and Beauty ate the sugar cube.

"Wanna go for a ride?" Theresa asked patting Beauty's nose, before taking a saddle off of the side of Beauty's stable, and placing it on her, once Theresa made sure it was secure she got onto her back, a place where Theresa hadn't been in ages, smiling Theresa took a deep breath before squeezing Beauty's sides, gently so that she wouldn't run out of the stable and risk hurting herself or spooking the other horses. Once Theresa and Beauty were outside, Theresa smiled and squeezed Beauty's sides harder before yelling "ha!" and that's when Beauty took off running, Theresa laughed as she felt the wind blowing through her hair, she had missed this, and she had forgotten how fast Beauty could run.

Jay sighed as he sat on the roof of the brownstone, how he missed Theresa, even though she had only been gone for a couple of days, but it just wasn't the same without her.

"Hey Jay, you alright?" Atlanta asked as she and Archie walked onto the roof, holding a bunch of paper, it looked like they were going to be doing homework.

"Yeah." Jay said smiling.

"Missing Theresa?" Archie asked as he sat down at the table.

Jay shrugged "a little bit."

"I miss her too." Atlanta said.

"You guys know that you can go home as well right?" Jay said, he was tired of always being the strict leader, and when he almost lost Theresa last month when she had taken all the gods powers, it made him realize that life was too short, and he had to cherish every moment of it.

"Nah, I think we're good." Atlanta said smiling at Archie, "besides I'm kind of excited to party tomorrow night at the beach."

"Me too!" Archie said raising his hands in the air.

Atlanta laughed as she opened her text book and began reading it.

Jay smiled as he watched the two of them, and began missing Theresa even more.

Theresa screamed in delight as Beauty jumped over a bush, horseback riding had always been one of her favourite things to do, and up until now Theresa didn't realize just how much she missed it.

"Good girl." Theresa said as Beauty jumped over another bush, they weren't very high but Theresa knew that Beauty probably hadn't been out very much since she was gone so Theresa was trying to go easy on her.

"Theresa!" Came a voice that made Theresa's heart stop, gasping Theresa pulled on Beauty's reigns and turned her around, "Theresa!" the voice called again, and Theresa sighed in exasperation.

"Sorry Beauty but we have to turn in, Aunt Crystal is here." Theresa said as she got off of Beauty taking her reigns and walking to the opening of the fence where Aunt Crystal was standing, looking very upset.

"Theresa, what have I told you about horseback riding?!" Aunt Crystal demanded.

"That it's un lady like." Theresa said rolling her eyes and sighing, if Aunt Crystal had any idea what Theresa had been up to at school she would probably be thankful that Theresa was only horseback riding.

"Exactly." Aunt Crystal said annoyed, "now go put that beast away, I have some exciting news to share with you and your father!" Aunt Crystal said clapping her hands before walking towards the house, Theresa watched her until she disappeared inside before sighing and leading Beauty back into the barn.

Once Beauty was back inside her stall Theresa took the saddle off, before patting Beauty's nose again, and trying to get rid of the sick feeling she had in her stomach, ever since Theresa's mother had died, Aunt Crystal had been trying to control Theresa's life, last time she had come she had given Theresa a makeover, since ladies don't wear jeans, God knew what Aunt Crystal held in store for her this time. Sighing Theresa knew that she couldn't hold off any longer, and took a deep breath as Theresa walked to the house, to face whatever Aunt Crystal got into her mind this time for her.
