First don't flame me for this not being a real story
So I know I'm barley on here anymore. Yet since this is one of the few places on the web that I believe have some degree of die-hard Road Rovers Fans I want to discuss something.
So I'm going to assume most if not all of us are aware of the recent DVD release of Road Rovers (available online for about $20)
Now this has me thinking, could this be a possible marketing experiment to see if the show is worthy of some form of reboot.
To a good degree I must disagree, if they were going to try and bring it back I feel they'd actually be advertising it. Which they have not. Heck I heard about the DVD through a few Furries to be honest.
Yet still should it sell to such a degree. Warner Brothers, would surely wish to milk it for all it's worth.
I understand that is a tall order. Time will tell in the end.
Makes me wonder why Pinky and the Brain haven't gotten their own live action/CGI movie yet now that I think of it. Remakes are all the rage these days
Anyway, on the off chance Road Rover dose sell enough, and manages too get a reboot. How much changes? I mean the 90's were fun and all, yet looking back their is a lot that doesn't make sense.
For exapmle, Master (plus Parvo and Groomer) survived being a mere feet away from bombs capable of taking down ships and destroying whole buildings
Plus the fact that Master was able to build Road Rover HQ, along with a space station, weapons, and all the other vehicles the Rovers use in a year. By himself
As an adult now I thought "Wait WTF?"
So that's clearly the first thing to change. I vision Prof. Shepard AKA Master as a military scientist creating a machine which would create animals more human for the army. I mean solders that could sniff out mines, or fly. Endless possibilities for sure.
Yet of course it needs to be tested, thus he purchases the Rovers (who are perhaps 2 years old at this point, meaning they're 14) as a trial run.
Cause lets be honest, if you were mutated into another creature, you're first instinct should be to freak out and be pretty confused
Thus we'd get a brief montage of the Rovers growing and maturing into real warriors over a few years. We can say the mutation extended their lifespans. I always wondered about that in the show
I suppose the powers they got could be kept, just explain them as a surprise enhancement from the machine.
All seems well until fellow scientist, Jeffrey Otitus (from the time travel episode) wishes to speed up the process and start creating more animal solders for the military. Shepard refuses saying he's bonded with his creations or something to that extent.
Thus Jeffery steals the blueprints for the machine, which leads to Parvo's birth. And shorty their after Groomers
And lets say Parvo's sick of humans being the ones ruling the world, cause as a stray cat he saw the horrors and sorrows of his kind on the streets while man acts like the dominant species we are
I feel that's a way better motivation for him
Thus, Parvo beings to create his own army of mutant animals blah blah blah
And Shepard learns about it and reluctantly has the Rovers face Parvo and his monstrous forces
I feel that would make a much better story for the Road Rovers if they are ever rebooted.
What do u all think?
