Trapped

Story inspired by the song "Castle Walls"

Chapter One:

Lily was never allowed outside of the castle without being watched over by her father's guards. All she wanted to do was free of her father's control. He wanted her to stay away from heartbreaks and sadness. His plan was to train her to be a Queen for his kingdom once he passed on. But she knew the job was never for her. Her father didn't think she needed a king to rule beside her, she was strong enough. Lily wanted to see the world beyond her, she had enough survival skills to run away and never come back. She vowed to herself that she would kill the whole population of Orcs if she had to, ever since they murdered her mother in cold blood. She was favored by her father and brother, Alexander. Though she never wanted to follow their footsteps. Orcs crawled the lands, and her father wouldn't risk her life to them.

One day she snuck out into the woods during the night, prepped with her bow and arrow. The sound of leaves crumbling travelled throughout the air. Lily knew she was not allowed, or if they would kill her or spare her. She quickly rested an arrow upon her bow and waited for them to reveal themselves.

"What is a woman like you wandering in these woods? It is not safe here" A male elf approached from the shadows. Lily aimed her arrow at him. The elf put his hands in the air, and added his opinion. "I am not here to harm you, madam. I just wanted to know what are you doing in these woods alone?" She looked at him, hesitating to lower her bow. She studied his facial expressions and his weapons, then lowered her bow. "I've always wanted to be free, I took my chance. What is your name, and where do you travel from?" She questioned him. He laughed and circled around Lily. "I am Haldir, of Lothorien." He placed his hand on his chest and nodded. That was the elven way to welcome someone. Lily's eyes widen. "So you know, the lady of the woods? Galadriel." She was told many stories about the elves by her mother. Haldir nodded. "Indeed." Lily knew it was wrong to talking to the elf, since her race didn't really have a good relationship with the elves anymore. "I'm sorry, I know we should not be communicating with one another. Haldir narrowed his eyes at her. "You have come from Rohan, the clothing is familiar. And what I am doing as of now, is none of my people's concern. I'm on my own this moment." He replied with slight change in his tone.

Lily turned away before he replied to leave, but she listened and looked down. "Yes, I am the Princess. Why does any of this matter to you?!" She demanded an answer. Haldir stopped where he was. "You are in the land of Lothorien. Anyone unwelcomed is my concern. You could be a threat to Galadriel and Celeborn." Lily took a deep breath and turned back around. "I am no threat, I would never hurt anyone. Including Galadriel and Celeborn. I've always wanted to meet them at some point, the stories my mother told me about the elves inspired me to be who I wanted to be and fight for what is wrong in this world." She looked up at Haldir. Then Haldir told his hidden forces to hold in elvish. "I trust you, don't let me regret it, follow me." He replied as he began to walk away. Lily hurried behind him. "Where are we going, Haldir?" He didn't hesitate to look back at her. "To see the Lady of The Woods, She awaits your arrival."
